My Very First Easter Story Sticker Book by Lois Rock, Alex Ayliffe

Here is a story and activity book containing a complete retelling of the Easter story presented in a simple manner for young children to grasp. The stickers are used first to complete the illustrations in the main story. Then there are extra activities on each page alongside the story--counting, naming, identifying--with stickers for each. All of the stickers are found in the center of the book where they are grouped and numbered according to activity to make it easy for young children to find the right sticker.

Excellent, beautiful book! I loved this one! It is a nice big size, easy for young children to handle. All the pictures are very bold, bright and beautiful. The story is re-told in a nice, easy to understand, flowing manor. Perfect for children. Along the bottom of each page are questions for the children to think about and answer using the stickers. It is a nice little added touch. Even after using the stickers, this is a book that I am sure they will want to read over and over again. To be honest - I couldn't find anything I didn't like about this book! This would make a GREAT Easter gift for your child, grandchild, nieces and nephews, a neighbor child, any child in your life! If you order it right now you might get it just in time!

I received a copy of MY VERY FIRST EASTER STORY from Kregel Publications. The text is written by Lois Rock and the illustrations are by Alex Ayliffe. When I first received my copy in the mail, my mom said, “Yay, a sticker book!” Each page is divided into two sections, the upper half dedicated to the story of Easter and the bottom half created for activities. The activities involve counting birds, amongst others. The stickers are applicable to both sections. I found the book to be an interesting way to introduce children to Easter. It would be perfect to tuck into an Easter basket or to play with at the dinner table while surrounded by family. There are spaces on the pages that represent where the stickers go – I would have personally preferred to put them on wherever I wanted, but the direction should be good for kids. I didn’t actually use the stickers. After I read the story, I gave the book to a coworker for her little brother. He’s eleven and absolutely adored it. She said that he played and read it for hours. The back cover lists other books in the series, including MY VERY FIRST NOAH AND THE ARK and MY VERY FIRST JONAH AND THE WHALE who want to continue the learning experience.

Just what our family needed. A book to reinforce the true meaning of Easter, along with a child geared activity. The boys listened with rapture to the story, they are at an age where they had a lot of questions. Mainly how these people hurt God? They were also asking how he could be alive? Perfect way to teach our faith, or I should say reinforce. They know this story and know he died for them and their sins. The boys ages 5 and 7, then had a great time doing the stickers that were included in the book. I thank Kregel Children's Books for providing me with a copy of this awesome book, and was not required to give a positive review.
