Mystic Park by Regina Hart is another wonderful story in the Finding Home series. Benita Hawkins has returned to Trinity Falls, Ohio to look after her great Aunt Helen. Benita frets that her Aunt should be in a more secure environment instead of living at her home. Benita also wants to get her friends with benefits to move to Los Angeles with her. She has a huge battle on both fronts. Vaughn Brooks loves his job as a music professor at the local college. He also love his hometown and has no desire to move. Vaughn has love Benita since he can remember but he can never get her to understand that his life and world are in Trinity Falls. While Benita is in town they agree to make the most of the time they have together. But when Vaughn asks Benita for assistance in his musical production, Benita oversteps and could possible harm the love that they have. Benita and Vaughn both are well matched in passion and in the way they look at life. It will be a struggle to work through their difference but it will be well worth the journey if they can bend. Reading Mystic Park is like revisiting old friends that I have come to know and love. It’s a treat to reconnect with characters from previous books. The chemistry between Benita and Vaughn is off the charts. And the connection between the town and its residence is outstanding.
Mystic Park is a story about learning to appreciate the little things. It is a journey of growth and change. It takes a trip back home to Trinity Falls for Benita to learn the value of all she has left behind. It takes Benita returning home for Vaughn to realize everything he loss when she left town. Ms. Hart's heartwarming tale of life's surprising moments is a wonderfully written look at the stages of life and the lessons learned. I received an ARC of Mystic Park in exchange for an honest review.
