This book is such an awesome resource. Not only would it be amazing for a beginner yogi, but it is also super convenient and inspiring for a yoga teacher! I love the breakdown of the poses and love the real life application Candace adds throughout the book. It makes for a more meaningful, personalized experience. By reading the book you can just feel her love, dedication and whole hearted belief in what she is teaching radiate out of the pages. Like I said above, so inspiring, all together a beautiful piece of art perfect for anyone.

I began following Candace a few years ago after my sister suggested her yoga videos. I quickly became a fan and was very excited to grab a copy of Namaslay. After a lot of procrastination, I finally ordered my copy last week. I'm somewhat new to yoga and I'm still developing my practice, so I bought the book to use as a reference since I knew it had breakdowns of the various poses (which are fantastic, btw). It also has great information about breathing techniques and meditation, which I intend to use as well. What I enjoyed most, however, were the pages filled with Candace's story. Her writing style is so enjoyable to read and very funny - I laughed out loud several times while reading. Her story is incredibly inspiring, yet the way she writes is so down to earth and approachable that you feel as though you're reading about a friend. I highly recommend Namaslay to anyone with an interest in yoga, whether you're just starting out or have been practicing for years. I also recommend it to anyone who may feel lost or may be struggling and is looking for something to give them some direction - as I mentioned, it's an incredibly inspiring book that may be just what you need.

The way Candace shares her story intermingled with her down to earth writing and great explainations keeps me going back to it. It is filled with page flags marking my favorite parts or quckly find the sequence I am working on. I reference it weekly and recommend it every chance I get. Drawback...I wish it had a spiral binding.

I just bought Namaslay 2 days ago and already read the whole thing and did 1 sequence. I have been away from yoga for 10 years and ready to start again; only this time for the whole practice of yoga. I identified with Candace, having battled (am battling) physical and mental illness myself. Her no-nonsense approach, sense of humor, and complete acceptance and love she writes with is like learning with her words enveloping you in a hug and giving you a big pep talk; leaving you knowing "Hell Yea I can!!" If you own any yoga book- own this one!!!

This book is amazing! It is soooo helpful for when you are trying to figure out how to do specific yoga poses or when you want to make sure you are doing them correctly. Her personal story is also very inspiring and it makes you feel like "If she can get through her hard times, so can I!" I also really loved that she talks about the poses that were difficult for her when she was first starting out because there are certain poses that I struggle with and it is uplifting to know that I'm not alone and that we all have to start somewhere. I just love love love every part of this book and I can't wait until I can do every pose in it!!!

I just bought this book, so have only been able to skim through, but I'm impressed with the sheer volume of content. It's not just a "how-to" for yoga. There is also quite a bit on living your life in a more positive manner, but this goes beyond just a self-help book full of platitudes, Candace offers up advice based on her own life. The photos for the yoga poses are clear with detailed instructions both before the photo but also with notes on the photos themselves. I look forward to diving into this book deeper.

This is a wonderful book on Candace's story and a great guide for yoga! As a yoga teacher in training, I am using it as a how-to and go-to for poses and alignment. Her story is so inspiring and I am so happy I was able to go for her signing in NYC!

I have attempted to read several books about yoga and have failed miserably, until now. Candace's book is a joy to read, she is honest and witty. She talks like I do and her style is relaxed and encouraging. Thank you Candace, you're my hero.

I've followed Candace's blog for quite some time now. I'm not an avid yoga student, but I know enough to do it. This book is amazing for someone like me. The images of the "do'/ & dont's" are probably some of my favorite. I find myself infront of a mirror with the book, practicing my form. I also love how she high lights her fight with depression and mental illness. The more people that talk about it, the more help someone else won't be afraid to ask for!

After following Candace's online community, Yoga By Candace, for a couple of years and practicing with her yoga videos on YouTube, I knew that Namaslay would be a great resource. I was not disappointed. The cut outs of yoga poses with tons of cuing are so helpful, and the sequences give the reader enough to work through a full practice or to accentuate a personal practice. The book itself is gorgeous from the photos to the quality materials. Candace's personal story that is sprinkled throughout the book is empowering to those of us who have struggled but hope to be able to find and maintain a positive outlook on the world and towards ourselves. I love this book.
