JONATHAN ALDERFER, artist and editor, has contributed extensively to several editions of the National Geographic Field Guide to Birds of North America and co-edited the fifth edition. He has served on the Maryland/District of Columbia Bird Records Committee and as associate editor of the American Birding Association's magazine Birding. The author lives in Washington, D.C. Area.

I ordered this great bird guide on line for 2 young cousins in South Carolina. They were excited to receive this surprise direct from Barnes & Noble. My husband was so impressed with it, I had to order him one also! Great pictures and information!
