Itanalyzes political discourses on 'national interests' and the EU, the frequently debated role of political discourse, the concept of national interest, andoffers an alternative point of view on intergovernmental interaction.

About the Author
KATRIN MILZOW is Scientific Officer at the Swiss National Science Foundation (SNSF) in Bern, Switzerland. In the past, she was a United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) and has taught courses at the Graduate Institute of International and Development Studies in Geneva, Switzerland. She has previously published on the relations between UNHCR and the Federal Republic of Germany.
