Overview

The thrilling continuation of the Magical Mayhem trilogy by USA Today Bestselling author K.F. Breene!

After narrowly surviving my debut into the magical world, I made a promise to myself: no more hiding in broom closets.

But with the Mages’ Guild reorganizing faster than anyone thought possible, and naming me as their number one target, that promise seems a little far-fetched. Especially since my training with Callie and Dizzy, the highly experienced dual-mage pair, goes off like a cake in a cannon.

Left to find someone that can fill the role, it isn’t until a formal dinner party goes horribly wrong that I find the best (and worst) solution imaginable: Reagan Somerset, the leather-clad crazy woman who busted into my broom closet sanctuary in the first place.

Through an off-kilter teaching style and many punches in the face, I learn my true potential.

But with her happier busting heads and kicking in doors than staying put with a pupil in hiding, it isn’t long before the world comes crashing down. The Guild has found me, and they intend to take me alive.

Wow, what a sequel! K.F.Breene has literally blown my mind with the second book in the Magic and Mayhem series. Natural Mage picks up where Natural Witch left off and it is a right cracker. Penny is coming along beautifully as a character. Emery is extremely loveable and Reagan is a hoot! I just could not stop laughing at her antics and her attitude. The action is so well portrayed you feel like you are in the thick of things. Darius is still stoic and proper with a soft side that only Reagan can pull from him. I could not put the book down. I am so looking forward to see how everything works out, I seriously can hardly wait for the next book.

Holly torpedo I was transported back into Penny’s world as if I had never left. So much action, magic and hi-jinx. Very descriptive and literally transports you into the action. I have so much to say but I will keep my lips sealed to not spoil it for you. I will say that it is a must read and am really looking forward to the next book to come out to find out what will happen next.

What an awesome book! I loved the first book in this series, but this one was even better. I loved how this book went into the teaching aspect of Penny, and how "the norm" didn't work for her. The way they had to think outside of the box was entertaining. I loved that the characters from the Fire Series (Born in Fire/Raised in Fire/Fused in Fire) made a huge appearance, and were integral in the success of building Penny into the Mage she was meant to be. And Emery?...Swoon. This series just gets better. I can't wait for #3!

"Natural Mage" is the second book in the Magic Mayhem trilogy set in KF Breene's DDVN world. It's the continuation of Penny's story, but we also get to reconnect with a certain female lead from the Fire & Ice trilogy. When these 2 ladies meet, sparks fly right out the pages. I don't want to give any spoilers, so I just say that in "Natural Mage", Penny gets to explore and learn her abilities with the help of Reagan's lead. Penny's journey is anything but smooth. Her lessons often result in dangerous, explosive, but also hilarious disasters. (A little side note to fans of Breene's Darkness series: you'll love it, it'll remind you a lot of Sasha and her not-so-intellectual, but rather intuitive approach to learning her trade.) I promise you, you'll end up laughing over the accidents and awkward situations that these characters have to go through. All the excercises in honing Penny's mage skills lead to an epic showdown in the end. Somehow I felt that Reagan stole the show here. I would have loved for Penny to be a pivotal factor in the final battle. But maybe she'll have her turn in the third book. I definitely found myself rooting for this lovely, little, powerful lady. Throughout the book, Penny's personality grew even more on me - she's a fabulous mix of toughness and softness, of naivete and wisdom beyond her age. I'm already looking forward to reading the next installment!

So funny, so hot, and I can't wait for more! K.F. Breene also brings us back to Reagan and Darius, it's like seeing old friends.

The second book in a series often has a hard time living up to the first. Not so with Natural Mage. I love this story even more! Penny's constant annoyance at what she deemed to be unnecessary mentions of "the rogue natural" (a.k.a. the man who left her) was very relatable, as was the constant influx of advice from everyone convinced they knew best, yet never truly listened to or valued Penny's perspective. Ah, but then there was my favorite aspect of the entire story: girl power from opposing spectrums. There is just something magical (pun intended) about having a sheltered, sweet girl (and future bad ass) paired up with a world weary, door busting superpower (and long time bad ass). The banter between Penny and Regan is absolute gold! They see the world and how to interact in it completely differently, yet understand things about each other overlooked by many. It's this burgeoning sisterly bond, and the unending potential for hilarious shenanigans, that makes me long for a separate series dedicated to The Adventures of Regan and Penny. I'd buy and read those for years if they existed. (I can't hint any harder here, lovely author lady.) There are so many scenes I want to share from Natural Mage, but that would get too spoilery. So, I will refrain from gushing more and only mention that Darius learns a lesson or two of his own (because really, isn't it about time? LOL!) Worth every moment, I definitely recommend this book.

Penny and Reagan together? Often? In the same book? Sign me up. Their antics were hilarious, and I can't wait for the next book! Oh, and Emery gets it together, too.

Loved this second book in the Magical Mayhem series! This has shifters, vampires, witches, mages and even a banshee! The Mages' Guild is coming back with a vengeance. Reagan makes a great (and hilarious) magic mentor, Emery returns to offer his power and support, and some new friends join in to help Penny fight the Guild. Penny learns she also has a secret weapon that has nothing to do with magic. It all boils up to an epic battle that will have you holding your breath.

5 stars is not enough! This is a continuation of Penny but we see so much more! We learn more and we see some awesome powers come up with some characters from the past or recent past come to play. I love the humor and action that is thrown in. Go read it and then we will talk!

Wow what a fun story!! We get to see Reagan and Penny training together! I really can’t decide who I like more! As always we get to hear Penny’s colorful “cursing” for example, “ Farmer John’s sausages!” KF Breene has a such a funny way of saying and writing the characters in the stories! I love it! This is a great series as are all of KF Breene ‘s series!!!

I really love this series. I love Penny and her made up swears that make me laugh out loud! She's packing some serious natural magic, but finding the right person to train her is becoming difficult. You'll never guess who she ends up training with. Unfortunately the magic guild is after her and they are sending a quite a lot of mages to bring her in. It's good thing her trainer is great in a fight and packs some awesome power, because they're going to need it! This book has great action, magic, vampires, mages, danger, shifters, battles, and laugh-out-loud humor. I love the characters in this series and can't wait for the next book to come out!

Another stupendous read by K.F. Breene in this follow up to the Natural Witch in the Magical Mayhem series!! Penny has been left in the capable hands of Callie & Dizzy, a dual pair of mages, trying to train Penny the way they have been taught. But things don't go too well, their type of training doesn't seem right for Penny, since Emery left she has never found that perfect balance again, so Darius steps in and decides he will train her, by putting her in very real danger from newbie vampires and leaving her to defend herself!! A massive magical fight, fireworks, lots and lots of panic and running by Penny thus ensues. Penny ends up engaging an ancient vampire after she is roused from her rest by Penny's magic, she is so formidable that Darius and the rest of his vampire clan have to step in and defend Penny, with many casualties on their side! So Penny ends up training and living with Reagan, fighting and learning to use her magic against Reagan's unique abilities. Emery returns on the scene after a premonition of Penny being hurt, and can't stay away, even though he feels he is not good enough for her. But as soon as he arrives, Penny's and Emery's magic combine and balance themselves out completely again, blissfully in harmony. They end up training together as the Mages are moving en-mass in an attempt to get to the Natural pair. Reagan, Emery and Penny end up pulling together fighting for their life in a massive battle against the Mages Guild. A brilliant read, full of magic, mayhem and laugh out loud moments. This book has that perfect blend of everything, with its characters from her Fire and Ice Trilogy, it really does make an utterly compelling reading. Fantastic main characters, vampires, shifters, witches and mages with a side order of beautiful chemistry and sass in abundance, its an epic fantasy PNR read that I just couldn't put down - I can't wait for the final book in this series. A wonderful 5 star read, one I can't recommend highly enough.

Loved it! Wowser! I'm suffering from a book hangover! The story is very entertaining, hilarious, and it was just simply cool that characters from the Fire and Ice trilogy make a substantial appearance in this book! I laughed, yelled, and wanted to help kick some rear! The story was unpredictable and exciting! The characters are snarky, sarcastic, and quite funny! Going back for a second read very soon!

The series just keeps getting better! This is a hilarious, fast-paced, butt-kicking story with romance, magic, plot twists, and well developed characters. I loved Natural Witch, but this was even better. Penny is completely relatable to begin with, and this story just adds to her depth and makes me like her even more. And when she gets together with Reagan, the combo is hilarious! This was so much fun to read, I definitely missed some sleep because I didn't want to put it down. Well worth the need for an extra cup of coffee.

Natural Mage is the sequel to Natural Witch and the second book in the Magical Mayhem Trilogy. This book is just as much of a riot as the first one. If you loved the first book and why wouldn’t you? - you’ll love this one. I 100% recommend this book. I loved seeing Reagan, Callie, Dizzy, Darius, Moss, Marie, and even Reagan’s neighbors again. Reagan is most definitely back and with her fanny pack, oops I mean pouch. The POV switched between Penny and Emery again in this book. Callie and Dizzy attempt to train Penny and when that goes wrong she gets tossed to Darius and when that goes wrong she gets tossed to Reagan. Poor Penny. Meanwhile, Emery is off trying to split the Guild up and keep Penny safe. Until he has a vision about Penny and doubts himself. PS. I love seeing Penny coming into herself.

Natural Mage (Magical Mayhem, #2) by K.F. Breene is a continuation of Penny's introduction into the magical community. There is a lot of action and mayhem throughout the book as Penny tries to take on the Mage's Guild with help from her recent acquaintances. This girl needs a sign that says "will find trouble." And although this book is an entertaining read, it wasn't as enjoyable as Natural Witch. The story continues along at a steady pace until the last few chapters where it increases in intensity. This felt more like a transition piece that will conjoin books 1 & 3 for the ultimate battle, so not really a stand-alone. I do credit this author for continuing to create unique characters that keep the reader attentive. If you enjoyed Natural Witch, you'll need to pick this one up too.

Woow, I had really high expectations for tis book, and one word, it was worth the agony of waiting for it to come out. Penny is a character that you just want to read about. Her personality is opposite from Regan. Prepare yourself for action packed adventure. I read it in one go, the book is just fantastic and pages just flew. (again no sleep). I was sad when it was over. I loved that this book is connected to Regan, so it is like reading two books at one. I highly recommend this one to all, that read previous one.

Holy Magical Mother Batman!!! K.F. Breene is a crazy genius. I couldn't put this "Natural Mage" down!!! My. Mind. Is. Blown. Away! Penny's not hiding in broom closets anymore and I'm dying for the next book! Put a out of control Natural Mage and a doesn't care Reagan together and get ready to have your mind rewired. I don't know how else to put it. The magic and action alone will keep you up all night turning the next page! This story alone is why I'm a KFB fan for life! Her characters are well written, there's never any confusion in the back story and she you have you crawling back begging for more!!!

Penny is a natural mage. She grew up without the training she would normally get and has to figure out how all this magical stuff works. Her two teachers (Dizzy and Callie) are a pair of crazy older mages. Dizzy and Callie aren’t working out and training is going no where, so of course Darius, a vampire guy, thinks he can do a better job helping her “open herself up”. He was wrong, of course. Not only does she almost lose control, she ends up waking up a really old nasty vampire that wants to kill her and everyone else. Since she isn’t having any luck with training, Reagan decided she would be the best choice. Penny doesn’t have a clue what Reagan is but her insanely crazy way of training might actually help. If she can get over the fact that Reagan is insane. And did I mention a boyfriend, that leaves her to fend for herself, but comes back to help? It was a great second book, the continuation to the story of Penny. Very witty, well written, great characters, and an amazing world. I laughed a lot, smiled, rolled my eyes, and was concerned in some parts when things got hectic. I give it 5 stars!

K.F. is one of my go to authors so when I found out the pre-order was up for Natural Mage I immediately one clicked! As usual she did not disappoint! She just keeps getting better and so does the series!!! Penny started off as such a timid character and I did not think I was going to grow to love her as I have. Watching her come in to her own in everything life has to offer has been such an action packed fun ride! Once everyone finally comes to grip with the fact that Penny is unique in not just her magic but her personality the action starts full force. Penny is unpredictable, untrained and learns by trial and error. Once you throw Reagan in to the mix, hold on, it becomes a bumpy ride filled with laughs, great banter, hijinks, and raw power & magic. Their combination is the best of everything all in one book! All my favorite characters add to the mix increasing the laughs, action and in the case of Emery all of that and a bond of strength love and added power. There are a few new characters, too some instantly connect to Penny, saving her life and promise to make the next installment even more intriguing because I know that more kick butt badness, magical mayhem and quick wit zingers on the horizon. You may want to set aside time to read this in a private place because if you are anything like me you will laugh aloud, scream in horror, yell at the characters to run or unleash depending on the situation and you will not want to put this down until the end!!!

"If she wanted to attack me, I'd have to jump from the window to escape. And she was so unhinged, she'd surely jump after me with a manic cackle. She had absolutely no fear." Oh I absolutely love everything about this book! The action, characters and witty banter just keep coming and I want more! Penny, Reagan and Emery, wow what a show. Reagan is able to let loose and Penny is becoming a powerhouse on her own. I am really excited to see what KF has in store for the next book. She writes these amazing stories and adds her sass and humor and I am left at her mercy. I am completely and hopelessly addicted and still wearing a smile! " A little touchy-feely for my taste," Reagan muttered, her hands out, feeling the dissipating spell. "A punch in the mouth is a little touchy-feely for your taste" Callie said, cracking an egg." If you are looking for a great read you have found it. Thank you KF Breene !!

This is the 2nd book of Magical Mayhem Trilogy, which is the 2nd Trilogy in Breene’s DDVN (Demon Days & Vampire Nights) World (the 1st being Fire and Ice Trilogy). It’s better than the 1st book and I love that book. I couldn’t put this book down even at 2 in the morning. Natural Mage picks up a few months after Natural Witch ended and Penny is staying with the Bankses (Callie & Dizzy) trying to learn more about being a Mage. Like most things with poor Penny they are not going so great. However Penny isn’t like a normal Mage and struggles with Callie’s way of teaching. So after an exercise with a newly turned vampire Darius decides to take over finding Penny a more suitable trainer. Then after a deadly dinner at Darius’ French Quarter home it is decided that Reagan will take over training Penny. This is where the fun comes in. I love Reagan. (You can read her story in the Fire & Ice Trilogy) With Reagan & Penny now paired up Penny gets better with her magic and learns how to physically fight without magic. The back in forth between Reagan and Penny throughout this book had me laughing so hard my sides hurt. My Favorite banter between the two is when Reagan asks: “ ”Want to be my Best friend?” “No.” “You’ll change your mind. I’m really fun.” “No.” “ I don’t want to give any spoilers in this review but the major players from the 1st book are in the 2nd book. Secrets are revealed, love blossoms, an elder is awoken and the battle is just getting started. I Highly Recommend Reading this book and all of Breene’s writing, I’ll be reading it over and over and over until the final book comes out. Thank you K.F. Breene for writing such a great set of books and I don’t blame you at all for my sleepless nights.

This book made me laugh and giggle so often. Penny’s growth is amazing, her “ah-ha” moments when she figures something out herself and the unorthodox training methods of Reagan and Darius (so glad to see them again!) just make this story so enjoyable. Penny being so mad to actually curse instead of her normal g-rated cursing. I just love this world that KF Breene has created and the merging storylines, even cameos from other stories, makes me happy!

Wow! Just wow! Magic, mayhem, and gut-bustingly hilarious hijinks abound in this 2nd book in the Magical Mayhem series. K. F. Breene has hit another home run with this one! She pulls you into the storyline right from the first chapter, and never lets go. I couldn't put it down. Join Penny, Emery, Callie and Dizzy, and Reagan in this fast-paced, action-filled, continuation of Penny's journey to grow into her magical potential. I received an ARC of the book, and I'm voluntarily stating my honest opinion. I loved the book so much, I also bought a copy! K. F. is one of the few authors whose books I automatically pre-order!

OMG I can't wait for others to read it so I can talk about it more. I don't want to ruin it for anyone. I LOVED this book. The scenes in the book are so good, you're transported to the middle of them and afraid to make noise at the same time you're laughing because Penny and Reagan are hilarious. Penny continues to pull me in as a reader. She's funny, genuine, and true to her character. It's so much fun to see her blossom into a powerful mage. Reagan and Penny personalities really shine. I love getting to know Reagan through Penny's perspective. This was a longer Breene book but I was done before I knew it wanting more because of the characters and the craziness they get in to. I CANNOT WAIT for the next one.
