About the Author

Wilfred Olijo is from Umuopu Enugu-Ezike in Igbo-Eze North Local Government Area of Enugu State of Nigeria.
Born in 1951 to the family of Jerome Olijo - a local farmer and a politician, he had the first phase of his primary education at St. Paul's Catholic School, Umuopu and later migrated to St. Mary's Catholic School Arji as there was no Primary Five and Six in his village by then.
His secondary education took him to St. Peter's Secondary School, Achina in Aguata, Anambra State. He taught briefly after his pivotal course at Mount St Mary's College, Azaraegbelu before he gained admission to the University of Nigeria, Nsukka where he studied English Language with Theatre Art as a major.
After his Youth Service in Lagos State in 1983, he got employment as a teacher in 1984. He taught English Language and Literature in various schools in the state. He was also a part time lecturer in Ondo State Polytechnics, Ijanikin Satelite Campus.
Willie has written a number of articles in various newspapers and magazines. One of his articles. "Over population, another area for a war" was written in apprehension of the unbridled population explosion in his country while another write up "Seeking the face of God in Politics" was a satire on sanctimonious politicians who failed election after claiming that they sought the face of God and received his go-ahead before contesting. His play "For a better tomorrow" and his poem - "Song of a tree" were prize winners in Nigeria Conservation Foundation NCF which he was a member.
He retired from civil service at Lagos State Senior Model College, Ojo as a Director of Education in November, 2011. Willie is currently a freelance writer and a Mentor.
Nduka is his first novel. The second which title is still classified is almost ready for publication.
