About the Author

Tara Wyatt is a contemporary romance author who's been making up love stories ever since she fell head over heels for the Backstreet Boys almost twenty years ago. Not content with merely daydreaming about Nick Carter, she grabbed a notebook and wrote what she now realizes was Backstreet Boy fan fiction.

After outgrowing her boy band obsession and obtaining an Honours B.A. in English Literature and Philosophy from McMaster University, her love of books and reading led her to pursue a Masters' degree in Library and Information Science at the University of Western Ontario. Currently, she works for a large public library system, where she has the arduous task of selecting books for children and young adults for the library's collection.

Winner of the Unpublished Winter Rose Award, Linda Howard Award of Excellence and the Heart of the West Award, Tara lives in Hamilton, Ontario with the cutest dog in the world and a husband that makes all of her heroes look like chumps.

I loved and enjoyed reading the suspenseful & romantic novel by the wonderfully, talented Tara Wyatt that I received free from the Goodreads Giveaway. Sierra Blake, a beautiful young woman and a former child star, is a spokeswoman for Choices. Someone is targeting and threatening Sierra so she hires a bodyguard, Sean Owens. As Sean and his team try to protect Sierra from danger, Sean and Sierra's attraction and feelings for each other ignite. Read the highly recommended, well-written, must read love story of Sierra and Sean.

Necessary Risk is the first in a new series by “new to me” author Tara Wyatt. A former child star is attacked and needs a bodyguard. Sean Owens runs a security company and agrees to be her bodyguard despite the chemistry between them. Of course he eventually fails to keep his distance but that is fun too. Necessary Risk has a terrific set of characters and a fairly good mystery. The chemistry between Sierra and Sean is palpable and will keep you flipping pages to find out what happens next.

It doesn't get better than a hot, protective and possessive hero, a smart and tough heroine in danger and some very sexy interludes to keep readers coming back for more. With the number of hunky security experts we've been introduced to in this book, I know I am looking forward to the rest of the series. Former child star Sierra Blake has signed on to be a spokesperson for a women's health group but someone does not like it. When she's attacked in public, she does not think much of it but when her house gets vandalized on the same day as the attack, she realizes that this may be more than just a run of the mill attack by a fringe group and knows that the smart thing to do is to hire some personal security. Enter Sean Owens. Sean finds himself very drawn to Sierra and also very protective of her but she's just become his client and she's off-limits, at least until his job is done. He knows that getting involved with her would compromise his objectivity and put her in harm's way, but getting his body on board is quite a struggle especially when she clearly feels the same way and isn't hiding her willingness to go there with him. Sean is determined to keep Sierra safe like he couldn't with a loved one in the past and with the unknown enemy upping the intensity of the attacks on her, they can't afford even the slightest distraction. I knew I had to read this book when I saw the blurb and it was everything I was looking forward to. I loved the immediate connection between Sierra and Blake and was rooting for them from their first meeting. I loved the strength Sierra displayed in dealing with the increasingly intense threats to her and Sean's protectiveness. There were a few surprises but overall it was a very enjoyable and absorbing read. While the plot is straightforward, the story has enough suspense to keep a reader on edge, waiting for the next volley from the enemy. For a debut, I think that Ms. Wyatt has done a great job and I'm looking forward to reading more from her. When I first heard about this book, I had a bit of a SQUEE moment. The blurb reminded me of The Bodyguard. I fell in love with overly protective men the first second I saw Kevin Costner on the screen in that movie. Talk about hot as hell!! I just KNEW that Necessary Risk would be amazing and I wasn't disappointed in the least. The story of Sean and Sierra that Tara Wyatt created was nothing short of perfect. I loved how Sierra was so strong in the face of such terrifying events happening around her. A strong female heroine is an amazing thing to read, especially when she's also vulnerable and so much like a real person that she's easy to relate to. I instantly wished I was more like Sierra and that I had a best friend just like her. And then there's Sean. Dear, sweet, protective, powerful and sexy Sean. You can't help but fall in love with a man that makes you feel safe and protected. Sean was incredibly protective of Sienna yet he wasn't suffocating and instead of coming off as creepy (as it sometimes does in these romantic suspense novels), it was endearing and sigh-worthy. It was very easy to get caught up in the chemistry that was furiously swirling around these two and it made it difficult to put the book down. I guess that's why I read it in less than a day! I enjoyed the plot line, there were quite a few things going on but the author wrote it in such a way that it wasn't confusing in the least and she kept the suspense and tension spiked up to a level where you are permanently sitting on the edge of your seat, just waiting for things to happen. Most of the time, I can figure out who the bad guy is while I'm reading but Tara Wyatt got me! I had no freaking clue and I was happily surprised to find out that all of my initial hunches were completely wrong and apparently, unfounded. This is the first book in a new series and while it does not end in a cliffhanger, I'm hoping that any subsequent novels will briefly touch on Sean and Sienna's relationship because I don't think that I could ever tire of hearing about their relationship. I can't believe my luck in finding yet another amazing author that I'm going to have to book-stalk for the rest of my life. AND you know what I just found out?!? Necessary Risk is Tara Wyatt's very first book. Are you freaking kidding me? Unbelievable. She is a talented lady and I'm so excited to see how the rest of this series plays out. * I received this novel in exchange for an honest review *

## DISAPPOINTING. That's how I would describe this book. I accidentally read book 3 first and loved it. Good thing I did. Because if I had read this one first, I wouldn't have continued the series. There were a couple of things (very few) that I liked, hence the extra star. The writing style was great; alternating POVs; hero wasn't a manslut. Yep, that's about it. Here's what I didn't like: the story dragged on and on. Same thing happening over and over. Too many incidents (threatening notes, vandalism, attacks). We get it.... but move on. The story wasn't progressing. My biggest problem was with the heroine. She was awful. So needy. She kept throwing herself at the hero, time and time again. No means no lady. I was embarrased for her character. She pressured him to throw his ethics out the window. Then, after they finally do have sex, she immediately calls him her "boyfriend" and says "we belong to each other now". In my head I was yelling at the hero: "Run, run fast." And after her hurtful betrayal, he forgives her instantly. I detest instant forgiveness. I can't recommend this one. The heroine ruined this story for me.

4 1/2 STARS! With the first in the Bodyguard series, Tara Wyatt brings us an intriguing read! We're drawn in from the start and continue trying to figure out who is behind all of the threats until the end, while falling for the sexy bodyguards! Loved the character interaction. When former child actress Sierra Blake starts receiving threats, she reaches out to security expert Sean Owens who she recently met. Sean brings in some of his best men to keep her safe, and takes her under his personal protection. There's just something about her that he can't help but react to. When the situation continues to increase along with the growing attraction between them, will Sean be able to keep his professional distance to keep her safe or will getting too emotionally invested make him lose his edge?

A romantic suspense read that has Sean, a bodyguard that you would love to wrap your arms around, and Sierra, a feisty woman that needs protection, doing just that. Sean and Sierra's love scenes sizzled on the pages while the drama and action never slowed. The first book in the 'Bodyguard' series, "Necessary Risk" is fast paced with the drama and romance starting from the first paragraph, and speeding to a great HEA.There was a lot of introductions to people, backgrounds, and events, but I would expect that for a first book in a series. I really loved all of the bodyguards that were introduced in this first story and cannot wait to read their own stories. If you are a reader of romantic suspense stories, then I would recommend you pick up "Necessary Risk". 4.25 Stars!

Trying a new author is always a little nerve-wracking, but the blurb for this book was spot on for the types of books I enjoy. So....I closed my eyes, hit "purchase" and I am SO glad I did! The hero is strong, the heroine real, and the sex.....WOW! For me, though, the suspense simply HAS to be there, and this book did not disappoint. I never got bored or found myself skimming. I laughed and nearly cried (Which almost NEVER happens when I am reading!) Great romantic suspense, and I can't wait to read the second in the series!!

There are book that I enjoy and then there are books that utterly WOW me! This is the latter kind and I’m so glad that I read it. Sierra is a former child star turned spokesperson for a Woman’s Center that offers various services for all women. She becomes the target of a radical group that is against what the Woman’s Center stands for. Sierra hires a personal body guard that she met at a convention and Sean takes her safety very, very, seriously. Sean not only wants to protect his beautiful new client, but he wants to protect his own heart from falling for her before the job is done. I absolutely loved the dynamic of the strong, alpha, protective, bodyguard and the vulnerable, yet strong, former actress. As the first in a new series, Necessary Risk is well developed and full of fun and likable characters. Not only do we meet Sierra and Sean, but the rest of his team and her group of friends make appearances from time to time. It was so easy to care about what happened to these two and the rest of the gang. I love that! It was action packed and kept me on the edge of my seat…I never wanted to put the story down out of boredom or from getting distracted. My only complaint is that there were parts that became predictable, but other than that, this was a wonderful and amazing suspenseful romance and I can’t wait for the next book in this series! *Copy provided for review.
