Impressive new cyberpunk
Can't I just rate the book?
Disjointed. Choppy. Doesn't have a clear idea of where it wants to go, and does not get there by the end. Disappointing.
Action packed cyberpunk and zombie style horror. This story really does take off rather quickly with very few breaks. I have read Shadowrun fiction, Eclipse Phase short stories and just good old regular cyberpunk stuff with gritty heroes and heroines but nothing nearly as gritty as this. Riko, our heroine, is absolutely tough as nails and very, very pissed. Despite beginning her day in the worst possible way she still manages to scrape together some gear, some mercs and some intel just so she can try to figure out what happened to her over the past 3 or 4 months. It sets up a good gritty world with crooked corporations and even more crooked street people and the tech zombie plot makes for some good horrific moments. If you like some really rough and tumble cyberpunk with fights aplenty and zombie horror to boot then this one is for you. I almost can't believe the author started in romance novels, it is that good.
