The last thing Iris needs is a man with his head in the clouds.

Lincoln Walker is a nice man—far too nice to date someone like Iris. The man has rich, beautiful, and successful business women wanting to date him. She calls tending bar a career.

He's naive enough to find her charming which makes Iris more determined to keep her distance. Iris is not a fool or naive. Nice men don't date broke women staying at hostels. Her mum may have raised her to be a survivor, but her worst enemy is herself.

Imagine Cinderella never getting to the ball. Imagine Cinderella turning forty and still scrubbing fireplaces for a living. That would be the fairytale version of Iris's life.

She's got no time to waste on dating Prince Charming—or rather, Prince Walker. The man owns his own kingdom and yet chooses to fly balloons for a living. Iris chooses to take down rowdy drunks in bars. Cupid better not shoot an arrow her way or she'll take him down too.

In her life, love and romance are temporary. That's all Iris can afford.

I was given an Advanced Review Copy, by the author, in return for a honest review. This is the eighth novel in the The Perfect Date Book series. Can two people, down on their luck in love, find happiness? This book can be read by itself, but you do see characters from past novels. This book had an amazing plot and witty banter. I loved Iris, her strength and courage, and found her and her story arc really relatable. Lincoln was an amazing guy, could not figure out why no one gave him a chance. Those two were perfect for each other, having been through a lot. Such a sweet contemporary, romantic read! ~ Sarah

Never Ever Been Better is such a fun story and in many ways a comedy of errors. When Iris announces she is engaged to Lincoln out of the blue it is a surprise to everyone, especially Lincoln. Donna McDonald brings characters to life in a style that is all her own. I love that her characters have lived a little before and are a little older and more mature. This is a wonderful series but this is also a stand-alone book so feel free to just jump right in and enjoy the ride.

For some there's only one. Iris is like most women with self esteem problems. Lincoln's the unbelievably paramount nice guy. To what lengths would you go for love? Grab your copy and see theirs.

I do love the Perfect Date series. When a new book comes out, I know that I'm in for an uplifting, lighthearted, funny read that will just make me feel good. Linc and Iris' story is no exception. This is a standalone book, but Linc had Della chase Iris down in the previous book. No worries. You will not miss anything if you start with this book. If anything, it will make you want to read the previous books. I like that the couples are mostly late 30's and older. Mature, have careers, have baggage, and are often ridiculously funny. Linc was a bit strange, but he was a nice guy with a hidden side. Iris had her own fair share of hidden talents. It was such fun to see how they interacted. This book also has a number of the previous couples making an appearance as well as an introduction to a possible future couple. A sweet, sexy, funny, romantic comedy. I voluntarily read and reviewed the Advanced Reader Copy of this book and thoroughly enjoyed every minute of it.

Review to follow - Loved this and even the excerpt at the end has put me on the for it which was "The Wrong Todd. This is the first book in this series that I have read but I enjoyed The Perfect Date Never Ever Been Better. McDonald always makes the story flow with amazing characters. Iris followed her boy friend to the United States and then got thrown out on the street by him with nothing. Lucky for Iris she finds her Perfect Date even though she is scared to follow through. "A copy of this book was provided by author with no requirements for a review. Comments here are my honest opinion."

First, this book is a standalone so no worries. It does have walk on parts of many of the characters from previous stories and I always love to revisit with them. The entire series is such fun that I recommend to read. Having said that, I have loved Lincoln since he first walked into a scene (in previous books) so it was great to read about his HEA. Iris and Lincoln are both strong characters, but have totally different faces that they show the rest of the world. I think the funniest thing that happened between them was the dueling martial arts abilities. Oversimplification and totally not funny when I write it but the author will make you laugh, guaranteed! Iris is a strong woman who can take care of herself but…she thinks she is a total life failure. Lincoln is one of the nicest heroes I’ve read but has this simmering ‘bad boy’ right under the surface, only he never lets it show. Until Iris. Chaos ensues and Lincoln has a hard road to travel to try to convince Iris that they belong together. Add in all the friends and significant others and it is truly a fun, touching, crazy book. I’m hoping there are more couples to be matched in The Perfect Date series although I don’t know how you can top these eight books.

Lincoln finally finds true love. But first he has to find his "man salt" and show the world who he really is down deep inside. I love Iris. She-ra is just what he needs. And Iris needs his patience and kindness. Lincoln's family makes an appearance, and of course they have to meddle a bit. We also get to see some of our faves again. Georgia and Dr. Columbo play match maker a bit as well. Still with love seens that "fade to black", but still has passion and romance.I'm going to be sad when this series comes to an end. If you're new to the series you'll thank yourself for starting at the beginning. You don't want to miss anything! These characters become old friends you want to visit again and again.Enjoy!

Delightful romance. Fun, realistic characters. I really enjoy this series. A unique storyline, a dating service LOL which is much better than online dating sites. I love that Donna McDonald writes so many books with characters over 40. Worth the read.
