I really wanted to like this book, but I just couldn't connect to the storyline or the characters. I was left in the dark for too long and just couldn't take anymore to keep going and find out what exactly was going on. Surprisingly I related more to Chase than Ryder, but I think it was because of how thin Ryder's character seemed. She didn't feel fully developed and I hated her use of "mister". The characters kind of felt too juvenile for me, and although I did appreciate Chase not being overly macho so I could relate to him, it all just didn't feel real. *This book was sent to me by YA Bound Book Tours in exchange for an honest review*

Never Fear the Reaper by Ashley Pagano is a the title sake first book in her new series, Never Fear the Reaper, and what a great read this one was. In the paranormal/fantasy genre there has been allot of different books lately but so far this one has been one of my favorites. Pagano hooked me from the first page and didn’t let go after that. Following the story of Ryder and Chase, we are met with some very unique and diverse characters that are willing to go the distance to keep each other. Ryder is mysterious and comes from out of the blue, but has just the right set of skills to alleviate Chase of his problem just when he didn’t know what else to do. Chase needs to get rid of a poltergeist, as quick as possible, and yet everything that he has tried has not worked yet. When Ryder, the beautiful confident woman, takes him back a step but impresses him in the same right with her skills. The chemistry between these two is palpable from across the page, which made this such a good read for me. Will Chase be able to open up to Ryder? Will Ryder be able to take a leap if she knows that Chase is there for her? With the paranormal world allow them this sliver of light and love together? If you are looking for a great new author that will steal your breathe and keep you on the edge of your seat than Ashley Pagano is definitely one to keep an eye on.

Never Fear the Reaper by Ashley Pagano 4-stars Never Fear the Reaper by Ashley Pagano is the first book by this author that I’ve read but it won’t be my last! This is the first book in the Never Fear the Reaper series, it’s intense, captivating, unique, funny and action-packed. I was able to read this in one sitting as it is a shorter read yet there was plenty of detail that it was easy to jump right in and follow along with Chase and Ryder as they start their adventure together! From the very beginning I was hooked by this storyline, it was highly entertaining and even with the darker content I found myself laughing often as Chase comes to terms with his new abilities. I look forward to reading more about these two as their adventure continues in Never Fear the Reaper: The Bargaining! This is a book I would recommend to anyone looking for their next supernatural read!

Never Fear the Reaper (Never Fear The Reaper #1) by Ashley Pagano was a action packed, fun, and entertaining read that had me hooked form start to finish. My first read by this author and this series, I was intrigued not only by the name, cover but, the synopsis. I was not let down and quickly devoured this book. Being that it comes in at 176 pages, it didn't take me long at all to finish getting lost in Ryder's and Chase's world. I loved Ryder as a character, he was blunt, straight forward and was a the best sort of badass. She kick death in the face, in more ways then one. Watching Chase wormed his way into her heart was fun, and it played out in a way making it realistic. The romance didn't overshadow the plot and there was no weird love confessing to make it awkward. I did want a little more on Chase, being that it is told from his POV, there wasn't much detail on him, and in truth I had a hard time putting a face to him. I also wish it was told in dual POV, cause I really wanted to know what was going on in Ryder's head. Especially at the end, cause I feel like there could have been more added to make that bloody fight, more in depth and amazing. Having that epic fight scene told from a third party and not from the fightee, make it less impactful. A fight scene like that needs to be centre stage, and not back seated for the lesser stuff. But all in all it was pretty epic, and that fight scene was choreographed splendidly. Overall I had a time reading about this book, even if it did end on a little but of a cliff-hanger. Luckily all books are out, cause I need to know what Chase and Ryder has gotten themselves into. Cause there was something giving at the end there, that has my mind racking with theories. Please take my super high recommendation and my stamp of approval that you will get lost in this story as I have, and have just as much bloody, paranormal fun. Happy Reading -E.A. Walsh

I give Never Fear the Reaper (A Never Fear the Reaper Series Book 1) by Ashley Pagano, 5 stars. Chase's little sister is being terrorized by a poltergeist. He will do anything to stop it, and this leads him to Ryder. He has been told that she is the best at getting rid of ghosts and such. She is nothing like he imagined and there is something about her that draws him. He needs to get to know her better. So he convinces her to take him on as his apprentice. Little does he know the adventures this will lead to and how much he will learn of not only Ryder, but of himself as well. This is a wonderful urban fantasy with lots of action and some romance. Ryder is such an interesting character. I have never seen anyone like her in books before. Chance is also interesting and fun. Together, they seem to balance each other out and make this story even better. I like the concept of her being a "ghost hunter". This is a new concept to me in books and it was done expertly. I really enjoyed this book and cannot wait to see where the next book in series will take me. This is an urban fantasy for all adults. I highly recommend this to those who love a wonderful, action-packed story with great main characters.
