Overview

Falling for the enemy has never been so deliciously complicated in this standalone romance where a sexy single dad meets his unexpected match! Get ready for all the feels!

Never have I ever been so infuriated by a man I wanted to kiss.

They say opposites attract, but I beg to differ. Combust is more like it. Because every single time I talk to Zach Nolan, I see red.

The too-good-looking, too-smart, too-effortlessly charming single dad who works down the hall from me has turned getting under my skin into a sport. Call it the battle of wits between the wedding planner and the divorce attorney.

Trouble is, when we're forced into closer quarters planning an engagement party for our best friends, I start to see his other sides.

And I fear I'm falling for the enemy.

***

I'm not out to make friends. My goals are simple -- fight till the end for my clients, and my family.

The last thing I need is a vibrant, outgoing, snarky, and surprisingly big-hearted wedding planner to spend my precious free time with...except, watching Piper bond with my daughter just might break down the cinder block walls I've built around my heart these last few years.

Second chances don't come around for guys like me...or do they?

5 star review of Never Have I Ever by Lauren Blakely If I could, I would give this 10 stars This was a slightly more serious story from Lauren Blakely as although it was full of steam and her trademark humour that has made her so successful, it also dealt with grief and moving on. Never Have I Ever is one of the best books that I have read this year. It is a story of enemies to lovers, overcoming grief, acceptance, family, laughter, friendship and above all love. I fell hard and fast for Zach Nolan and honestly he just melted my heart; he is my newest book boyfriend. Zach and Piper Radcliff have been frenemies for years and the last thing either of them expected was to develop feelings for one another. This story was at times highly emotional as Zach and Piper navigated their relationship all the while keeping it on the down low. The relationship that Zach has with his children Lucy and Henry was so heart warming and I loved how the friendship developed between Piper and Lucy in particular. Of course the chemistry between Zach and Piper was smoking hot and there were plenty of laugh out loud moments through out. I don’t think I will ever play a game of Never Have I Ever without immediately recalling this audio book. Loved, loved, loved.

Never have I ever enjoyed a book more than Lauren Blakely’s latest swoon-worthy romance between a sexy single father and a spunky and successful wedding planner who have known each other for years and have never seen eye to eye. Zach bets odds on how long the marriages of Piper’s happily wedded couples will last and she’s convinced he’s a cold hearted snake of a divorce lawyer. They don’t know it yet but there’s a lot more going on between these two rivals than either of them is prepared for and this tender and heartfelt love story charmed me right from the start. I read an early copy of this book and all opinions expressed in my voluntary review are completely my own.

5 stars I purchased a copy of the mildly steamy novel Always Satisfied book 4:Never Have I Ever: Zach and Piper by Lauren Blakely and this review was given freely. A heartwarming opposites attract, frenemy, second chance at love romance packed with drama, wonderful characters and group of college friends who find love almost fifteen years later. Wedding planner and bridesmaid for hire Piper struggles with her mother's broken romances, her sister's struggles to have a baby, her busy professional life and her growing attraction to the single dad, divorce attorney Zach who works next door.

NEVER HAVE I EVER is the third instalment in Lauren Blakely’s contemporary, adult ALWAYS SATISFIED erotic, romance series focusing on a group of former college friends. This is attorney, widower and single father Zach Nolan, and wedding planner Piper Radcliffe’s story line. NEVER HAVE I EVER can be read as a stand alone without any difficulty. Any important information from the previous instalments is revealed where necessary. Told from dual first person perspectives (Piper and Zach) NEVER HAVE I EVER follows the enemies to friends to lovers relationship between attorney, widower and single father Zach Nolan, and wedding planner Piper Radcliffe. As a divorce attorney Zach rarely sees a happily ever after but the death of his wife has jaded our hero to second chances including his own. When mutual friends plan their ‘I do’s’ Zach finds himself face to face with wedding planner and the bane of his existence Piper Radcliffe, the woman who stirs something long thought buried and dead. Forced together for a destination wedding in London, England, Piper and Zach will take their relationship up to the next level, a level that many threaten any hard-fought attempts at friendship. What ensues is the building romance between Zach and Piper, and the potential fall-out as Zach struggles to move forward leaving Piper to pick up the pieces of her broken heart. The relationship between Zach and Piper is an enemies to lovers. Zach rarely sees a happy ending because of the multitude of divorces he has had to preside over; and Piper is the perpetual optimist regarding marriage and love, except when it involves her own lonely heart. The $ex scenes are intimate and passionate without the use of over the top, sexually graphic, language and text. There is a large ensemble cast of colorful and energetic secondary and supporting characters including Dina, Heather, Charlie and Jessica, Steven and Jason, Zach’s children Lucy and Henry, as well as Piper’s sister Paige, and Piper’s friend and hairstylist Adrien. We are reintroduced to Sloane and Malone (Delayed Satisfaction / Satisfaction Guaranteed #1). NEVER HAVE I EVER is a story of second chances, of a sorts, for two people who have loved and lost but lost on a different end of the relationship spectrum. The premise is engaging and captivating; the romance is seductive, impassioned and hot; the characters are dynamic and charismatic. NEVER HAVE I EVER is a wonderful addition to Lauren’s ALWAYS SATISFIED romance series.

A wedding planner and a divorce lawyer?! Yes, please! This Frenemies to Lovers story was an absolute joy to listen to because the narrators delivered a wonderful, character-driven story. I adored the romance between Piper and Zach. Their chemistry smoldered, but they also built up an understanding between them about what they valued in their lives. Their love affair was both sexy and heart-warming! The single dad hero and his too adorable for words kids stole the show in this story. There is a scene near the end where Zach's daughter absolutely melts my heart and made me cry all the tears! Being a LB book, there were cameos from so many of our favorite couples and an epilogue that perfectly wraps up the HEA. I finished listening with a smile on my face and the feeling that love conquers all. Favorite line: "This feels like everything I didn't know I was missing."

Never have I Ever was a book that made reading so much fun! It was entertainingly addictive, had beautiful family and friends and some really steamy moments! It also touched on subjects that we all go through at certain times in our lives! I just loved Piper, what an amazing woman! Fantastic at her job, incredibly thoughtful to her sister and I really felt she was destined for great things to come! Zach, just wow, talk about charming! But can the love hate friendship go beyond that, will they succumb to the sizzling chemistry? Or do his thoughts get in the way! This book was so heartwarming, so beautiful and the way Zach was as a dad, was just wonderful, as every dad should be! I loved the banter and I loved how Zach’s daughter Lucy showed him how things should be! She was definitely wise beyond her years! Beautiful, just such a beautiful story!

4.5* Although Never Have I Ever is quintessential Lauren Blakely when it comes to the sexiness, the heat, the witty banter, and the fun and flirtiness, it also has a more emotional element than many of her contemporary romances and that’s what really drew me into Zach and Piper’s story. I like that Ms. Blakely can bring the feels without bringing the drama. Piper and Zach are what I’d call frenemies- not quite enemies, yet not quite friends. I really enjoyed their dynamic- the wedding planner and the divorce attorney sure had the sparks flying! But I loved that this wasn’t just their story, as a couple. It was Zach’s story of coming to terms as a widower, learning to move on, live and love again. It was his story as a single father, navigating the new normal for himself and his kids. It was Piper’s story, as a strong, independent business woman, as a sister and aunt, as someone who was dealing with her own past insecurities. All of this made for such a heartfelt, endearing, and really delightful read. Zach is such a wonderful father, I really love the relationships he has with Lucy and Henry- they each have such a special bond with him. You could just feel how much Zach adored his kids and my heart would just be bursting with love at their scenes. I appreciated that Lucy and Henry weren’t just used as a plot device, they really were the third main character in this story. Lucy kind of stole the show there at the end, and I loved it. Never Have I Ever is probably my favorite book from Ms. Blakely in this past year. I’m definitely going to grab the audio so I can revisit these characters.

I adore this series from Lauren!! So many things to love about this book: (1) I squeal in glee when characters from the other books pop up unexpectedly - yeah!! (2) To be honest - I wasn't sure I was going to like Zach at first which was shocking. That very quickly dissipated. (3) I love strong, sassy female lead characters and Piper did not disappoint. (4) Love the wit and banter in all Lauren Blakely books! (5) Lucy and Henry - Lucy most definitely stole my heart in this one. (6) Reading the interactions between Zach and his children - be still my heart! (7) As always, the sexy scenes did NOT disappoint. (8) Never Have I Ever may be my new favorite game - I loved all versions of this one! (9) Royal wedding love. (10) Everything else about this book. I voluntarily requested and read an advance reader copy.

Another brilliant story by Lauren Blakely. This time around we get to meet Piper and Zach, the wedding planner and the divorce attorney. Enemies.....at least until they are forced to make nice for their friends. I loved watching them realize that there is more than meets the eye mixed with the regular LB humor. Great book to read!!

Never Have I Ever by Lauren Blakely is #3 of her Always Satisfied series. Zach and Piper are complete opposites. A divorce attorney and a wedding planner kind of have to be. Right? At least on the surface. With what they show the world. Let's just say that these two are more connected than you might think. And not just through mutual friends and acquaintances. When Piper and Zach are forced to work with each other, what you would expect is oil and water. Instead what you get is fire. Zach is a character whose history and family really define him and make him relatable  and real. He is very closed off, and for certain real reasons. Piper has such an optimistic personality and hopes (she is the wedding planner after all) that as these characters work past their initial issues and their real characters are revealed, they can really connect and grow, and for the right reasons. Though some pretty steamy ones too. It is pretty firey. Overall I very much enjoyed Never Have I Ever by Lauren Blakely and this is probably my favorite of the Always Satisfied series. These characters just really "worked" and made me feel happy for them in the end. I very much recommend. (I voluntarily reviewed an advance review copy of this book I received for free in exchange for my open and honest review. This does not affect my opinion of the book or the content of my review.)

Good game of never have I ever is always fun. ARC received for an honest review. This book sucked you in and kept you wanting for more. Zach and Piper were more frenemies then anything else. It’s the couple you don’t expect to get together. I found how they found their way together to be refreshing. They have known each other for years so it wasn’t a “I met you last week and now I’m utterly in love.” I also loved that you read both male and female POV vs your regular female POV. I enjoin getting to read the mans POV in books but it’s typically one or the other. Lauren also brings in literature in this book. Who doesn’t love the smell of an old book?! I highly recommend this read!

A fun romantic read set in NYC. Piper is a wedding planner, recruited to plan her best friends wedding to Zach’s best buddy. Piper is happy with her life, but deep down she would love to find her HEA someday. Zach is a single-dad to two great kids, Lucy and Henry. The chemistry between Zach and Piper is combustible from the beginning. Zach is working his way through the minefield of possibly dating again after losing a spouse. Will Zach allow himself to find love again? Lucy and Henry just ran away with my heart. She is so cute, sweet, thoughtful, and part matchmaker. She has developed such a sweet relationship with Piper. Piper has been in the same circle of friends with Zach since college. She has always found that their banter has been one zinger after another till they let their guard down. Never Have I Ever by Lauren Blakely has another super swoon-worthy hero and a strong, passionate, and beautiful heroine. Will Lucy be able to bring Zach and Piper together? Never have I ever enjoyed such hotness from one swoon-worthy, dirty talking, second chance at love Blakely boy and his super talented wedding planner. Totally give this read a double thumbs up!! PS...bring some tissues!!

A wedding planner and a divorce attorney, such a natural pairing right! Piper and Zach have a fun relationship where they both enjoy poking at the other. They were quite entertaining, but you quickly see they have a lot of potential there. Zach is a single dad and I love the dad side of him so much! I also really enjoy how well Piper fits with all of them. It was a super cute read and I really enjoyed it!

Overall 5 stars Performance 5 stars* Story 4.5 stars This was such a fantastic listen! Never Have I Ever was such a great blend of funny, sexy, and heartfelt moments. It has all the classic Lauren Blakely romcom laughs, but it also has some very tender and emotional scenes too. This story has a little bit of everything, from enemies to lovers, to single parent, to forced proximity. I loved Zach and Piper! Their playful back and forth heightened the sexual tension between them so deliciously. Truthfully, I wouldn't have minded if they stayed in the enemies/frenemies zone longer! Events in their pasts have left them feeling vulnerable and guarded, but as they each open themselves up to possibility, those defenses drop and it really is beautiful. I appreciated so much that our characters were mature adults who (for the most part) spoke openly and honestly about what they wanted and desired. They don't play games and there isn't a whole lot of angst or unnecessary drama. Zach is always a father first, and I loved that the happiness of his children was always his top priority. His relationship with Henry and Lucy was so sweet, especially his bond with Lucy. Girl Power! The scene between Lucy, Zach, and Piper at the end warmed my heart so much and was beyond perfect. I'm not usually the biggest fan of the deceased spouse trope, but Blakely handled it so realistically and beautifully that I couldn't not root for Piper and Zach. Jason Clarke and Amanda Ronconi were amazing! I was so impressed by their versatility and ability to convey so much emotion in their performances. This is my first time hearing Amanda Ronconi, but what a treat it was! This audiobook couldn't have been more perfectly cast! I think my only minor issue with the audio overall is that there seemed to be some static or fuzziness when both narrators spoke loudly or emphatically. Almost like they were too close to the microphone? I'm not sure what caused it, but it made their words not as clear. It didn't detract from the story, but was something that I noticed. Never Have I Ever felt a little more serious than some of Lauren Blakely's lighter romcoms, but it's definitely worth the credit! You don't want to miss this heartwarming love story! Update 10/4/19 Reread the ebook and fell in love with Zach and Piper all over again! It was just as emotional and heartwarming as it was the first time. If you get a chance to listen to the audiobook though, I definitely recommend it!

I never quite know what to expect when I read an enemies-to-lovers romance because there are stories where the hero and heroine don’t seem to be each other’s enemy because they’re complete strangers or only have random interactions that truly wouldn’t be categorized as adversarial face offs. When I think of the true scope of a romance in this trope, I see it as two characters on opposing sides, either personally or professionally, who can’t stand one another and makes that fact abundantly clear. In Lauren Blakely’s newest release, Never Have I Ever, the main characters, Zach and Piper, have careers that put them at opposite sides of a potential happily ever after because Zach is a divorce attorney and Piper is a wedding planner, so the fact that they have to share the same office space, which results in a continual flow of antagonistic antics and pithy words, allowed me to see that they truly did not like each other, even if their bodies seemed to not be on the same page as their heads. If there’s one aspect of Lauren Blakely’s writing that always captures my attention as a listener and/or reader it’s the hero and heroine’s interactions at the onset of their story as well as when they seem to be dancing around each other, not truly ready to go all in, but not opposed to exploring the connection that they both feel. I loved the back and forth between Nolan and Piper as they try to outwit and outplay one another. And by the time they were ready to give ‘more’ a chance, defenses had been lowered and the negative feelings that they seemed to have for one another turned into an emotional connection that both desperately wanted and needed. Like Blakely’s other stories, Never Have I Ever doesn’t fabricate unnecessary drama or use miscommunication as a means to break up the couple once they’ve given into their feelings; the problems and issues that they experience are based on the situations the hero and heroine are in and the way life can change directions when people least expect it. I appreciate the way the conflicts are handled and the steps taken after to resolve them in a way that doesn’t destroys what started out as attraction to mutual feelings to, hopefully, a happily right now. 4 Poison Apples

I love this one. Never Have I Ever is a sexy, heartfelt, frenemies to lovers featuring a dreamy single dad divorce lawyer and a kindhearted and determined wedding planner. I am obsessed with these characters. Piper and Zach have insane chemistry in and out of the bedroom. The energy that surrounds them when they were in the midst of their verbal spars was electrified. All the bickering led to the most delicious tension. Because they shared an office building, the close proximity just added to the deliciousness. (Oh how I love a good verbal sparring. Lauren Blakely is a master at the playful back and forth.) Zach with his kids was just all kinds of swoon worthy. Their rapport felt so natural and caring. His kids are so well adjusted after the passing of their mother. His relationship with his daughter, Lucy, is probably favorite thing in this story. He treated her with so much love and respect. It's so dang sweet. Piper also had a special connection to his kids. She was so good with them. I adored all the "girl-power" independent woman she passed on to Lucy. Never Have I Ever is easily one of my favorite stories this year. Lauren Blakely shines once again with her sexy, sassy banter, the undeniable character chemistry and the smooth and effortless ways of her words. If you love single parent romances, enemies to lovers, and/or a tender heartfelt love story, then you need this book in your life.

A definite new favorite read by Lauren Blakely. A frenimes to lovers storyline with a seriously sexy single dad. The chemistry and banter between Zach and Piper is sizzling hot and swoony. I absolutely loved the supporting characters, almost as much as the main characters and Lucy absolutely stole the show. This read will put you through all the feels. I highly recommend this book.

he wedding planner and the divorce lawyer. It shouldn’t be a match made in heaven, but fate decided otherwise. Zach and Piper have known each other since their college days, and thought they hated each other. Zach certainly didn’t do much to endear himself to Piper when they met unexpectedly at one of the weddings she had planned. That was ten years ago. Today, they have offices across the hall from one another, but their feelings haven’t changed. They’re drawn together when both are picked as best man and maid of honor when their respective best friends are getting married. Zach is a single dad now. He’s juggling life and work. He has no time to date and Piper would be the last woman he’d ask out, or so he used to think. Now, he’s seeing her in a new light, as is she. This was a sweet and very sexy, very swoony enemies to lovers romance. I loved these two characters and was happy to catch up with old ones too. Lauren has written a fabulous story yet again. Their attraction and chemistry was kindle-meltingly hot. The banter fast and furious. Sassy and snarky. But it was the addition of Zach’s kids that made this such a hit in my opinion. Loved it.

Gah! I adored this book! She's all about the hopeful beginnings of marriages and he handles the heartbreaking endings, but while Piper and Zach may have seemed like absolute opposites, they had a heck of a lot in common as well. These two were always willing to go above and beyond for their clients, and they had a genuine affection for those who were closest to them, i.e. her sister, his mother and sister, and their sets of friends, mutual and otherwise. Then there were Zach's children, ten-year-old Lucy and seven-year-old Henry, who were too cute for words and brought an added lightheartedness to the story. There's a bit of angst when it comes to the respective histories in the relationship department of the main characters, but I'm choosing to keep mum about those since nothing is mentioned in the blurb and I don't want to be the one who spoils it for those who have yet to read the book. While this may be the third full-length novel in the Always Satisfied series, you can go into this without having read the previous books (but read them anyway because they're good!). Never have I ever met a Lauren Blakely book I didn't end up falling in love with, and that holds true for Never Have I Ever, which receives five stars. ♥

Never have I ever read a book that had so much fun with this game! This was a delightful romance between two people who have been friends since college: a wedding planner who believes she's plain and ordinary, and a widowed divorce attorney who is always placing bets on which marriages will last. Their offices are next door and they have the same circle of friends so their paths cross often, giving them enough practice at teasing and ribbing each other that they're seasoned experts at pushing each other's buttons, but neither has ever considered a relationship with the other. Until finally the stars align and they find themselves in the perfect setting for an epic game of Never Have I Ever, where secrets are revealed and passion is ignited. There's a little bit of angst involved, not just because of their opposing jobs and past history, but also because of his two young motherless children. This part of the story allowed for a slow-growing relationship that was full of emotional highs and lows, and culminated in one of the best proposal scenes I've ever read. It's a sweet story (with plenty of steamy parts) of a love that has finally found its time, and I enjoyed it very much. I voluntarily reviewed an ARC of this book.

Zach Nolan is 10 kinds of "hot sexy man". He's a shark in the courtroom, he's an A+ single dad and he's an expert in giving his frenemy a hard time. Piper Radcliff is a wedding planner extraordinaire. She has devoted her life to her business and has little time for love even though that is her business. Her office neighbor and long term frenemy irritates her to no end, that is until he doesn't. Zach and Piper have a wonderful build up with all their banter back and forth and with them being friends in the same circle as well as sharing an office when their built up attraction finally explodes it is game on. Oh yes, this all begins with the game Never Have I Ever. Truths can be revealed in an innocent game or maybe it's not so innocent after all. I received an early copy to read and review and give my honest opinion. I loved this book and highly recommend it.

I adored this book!!!!! Not only did I have the pleasure of reading it but my ears also had the pleasure of listening to it. This is an incredibly charming, funny and sweet story and I can say that the narration only adds copious amounts of goodness to the story. Amanda and Jason rocked it so hard as Piper & Zach!! This opposites attract frenemies to lovers story is simply everything! In my opinion Ms. Blakely can do no wrong in this RomCom genre!!! These two characters are absolutely fantastic and so darn lovable! Zach is a divorce attorney and Piper is a wedding planner, is there anything more opposite than that? Zach is also a widower and single dad. OMG I love his children so much!! And it’s so swoonworthy and sexy how much he loves them!! I love every little thing from beginning to end about this book from the humor to the heat and all the other emotions it made me feel in between. Absolute Rom Com Perfection!!

I loved this delightful frenemies to lovers romance! It was so sweet, touching, and steamy. Zach and Piper were acquaintances in college, having the same group of friends. Ten years later they continue to hang with the same friends, are both successful and work in the same building. They have always been like fire and ice, exchanging barbs whenever they are together. But all of a sudden, their taunts have become more fun and fiery, adding fuel to their growing sexual tension. They both have things in their pasts that make it hard for them to know how to handle these powerful new feelings. But between Zach's adorable children, and their fun, loving and supportive friends, that won't be a problem for long. Zach with his kind and gentle nature and his devotion to his kids, first and foremost, then to his family, friends, and clients, makes him so swoony and my favorite hero! Put them together and I am totally in love with Zach and Piper! They are both strong, witty, and caring people, and their chemistry and passion is off the charts. I loved this unique, refreshing, witty romance, with mind melds, firsts, lists, and letters being some of my favorite highlights that brought me to tears, made me swoon, and laughing out loud. Blakely continues to create hilarious, touching, and hot and sexy romances that capture my heart and Never Have I Ever is a beautiful masterpiece!

**I voluntarily read an early copy of this title in exchange for an honest review** What a wonderful book this was! This is the third book in the Always Satisfied series and while it is part of a series, it can be read as a standalone. Piper and Zach have known one another for years and are part of the same circle of friends, however they've never really gotten along. Piper is a wedding planner who loves to make everything perfect for her brides, whereas Zach is a divorce attorney, so he is always making wagers on how long a union will actually last. When the two begin to share office space, they start to notice one another in a different light. Throw in that Zach's young daughter takes a shine to Piper and enjoys spending time with her and that adds another layer of them interacting. Couple that with the fact that they are the maid of honor and best man for their close friends who are getting married and they spend even more time together. As feelings begin to change, Zach has to balance how he handles this newfound love as he juggles being a widower with two young children. Piper understands and tries to help as they all adjust to their new normal. I loved these characters. Zach, Piper and his kids were amazing and this story was so much fun. It was cheeky, swoonworthy and just downright fun. Lauren Blakely is one of my favorite authors and this book has risen in the ranks and is one of my favorites!

Enemies to lovers, to friends to more, and it’s official, this is my favourite Lauren Blakely book to date. What happens when a divorce attorney and a wedding planner get together? A complete and utter feel good read, that’s what. I just adored Zach Nolan, every little thing about him. His hard side. , his mushy side, his dad persona, his friend persona, his cockiness, his doubts and insecurities, just everything. Piper Radcliffe is a take charge, leave no stone unturned kinda girl, and she was perfect, she had a great sense of humour, and she loved, loved, loved her job as a wedding planner. She handled Zach and his truly adorable children to perfection. Both her and Zach have wonderful family and friends, characters that I just loved reading about, some too, familiar to me from other books. Sweet, sexy, and a wonderfully addictive read. I received an advanced copy of this book. This is my honest review.
