Riot Bentley was the hot new actor trying to work hard and make it big in the country's toughest industry. He showed up for his first high-profile job and was captivated by a woman. But it wasn't the leading lady who caught his eye, it was the beautiful yet reserved costume designer. Luckily for him, persistence was one of his best qualities.
Kalli kept people at a distance for a reason. Not because she didn't want love, but because she loved too much already. Riot saw her for who she really was and he wasn't willing to be brushed aside. He wanted to give her the love she didn't think she deserved.
Would Riot's persistence break through Kalli's walls, or would she stand strong trying to protect the one thing she held dear?
This is a full-length novel and is intended for adult readers due to mature themes.

Anie gets better every time I read her. Three series’ and I am hungering for more. Anie’s descriptions are spot on and pull you into the story. I delight in the twists and turns that she sticks in the story line. This is a duet that spun off from the “Never Series.” I love that we get to revisit Tilly, Porter and Ella’s families while we learn more about Kalli. Kalli has a reason that she keeps everyone at arm’s length. Through this book we learn what and why. I love it. Cliché but I couldn’t put it down. I had book hangover for days. I was gifted this book in exchange for an honest review.
I received this book from Enticing Journey Book Promotions in return for a fair and honest review. Kalli lived a glamourous life to those that didn’t know her. She was responsible for dressing artists for tv shows, movies, and videos which involved shopping, lots of it and meeting famous celebrities. Little did she know that her job would put her in touch with an up and coming actor, Riot, who she couldn’t keep herself from. He was different. He wanted to break down her walls and get to know the real person, to learn the heartbreaking story of Kalli. He wanted to learn about her, the secrets she kept hidden from those she called her friends. Would the idea and possibility of love between them be strong enough to hold them together during the tragedy that is strong enough to break Kali for good? Anie Michael’s is a genius! I have yet to read a book by her I did not instantly fall in love with the story and the characters. This was not any different. As many are aware, this is sort of a continuation of her Never series, but is written based solely about Kalli and Riot, and is part of the Never Duet. She wrote this book during the same time frame as the other series but had a way of writing it so you felt it was separate. There wasn’t a repeat of much from the other book so it didn’t feel repetitive like other books I have read that have been written in the same time frame. She did a great job on that so the readers wouldn’t feel like they were reading part of the story word for word for a second time. This story is heartbreaking, exciting, happy, and incredibly tragic. The emotion is raw. Their feelings for one another feel real. Kalli is a strong and independent woman. She is not unbreakable though. Her character was written with such finesse that it was easy to visualize her and how she would be if she were real. I didn’t want to put this book down. The story keeps you reeling, wanting more, and needing to know more. This is a definite must read, without a doubt. Pick up your copy today, you won’t be sorry you did. If you want to learn more about Kalli’s great friends in her book, then pick up Anie’s other Never Series and read those also – there is nothing to be disappointed by this Author’s work!
