New York Minute is a story about an accountant who wants to be something more than ordinary. She turns on the sex appeal at a wedding and ramps up the excitement in her life when she encounters too hot and sexy, Diego. When she bends her own structured persona to fulfill her heart's desire, she gets more than she plans and spends many pages delving into blissful sex and exploring her inner tigress. Melinda Dozier goes all out sexy in this steamy romance about a girl next door meets super hot musician.
My Review: 4 stars I received a copy of this story in exchange for an honest review This is a very steamy story. Veronica attends a coworker's wedding, where she meets a delicious Diego. Veronica is pretending that she's a sexy siren for the evening in the hopes of roping in aman for a night of passion. She seems to get more than she bargained for. Their explosive chemistry will have you enraptured and begging for more. They spend one night together, after which Veronica disappears, thinking she won't see him again. It seems initially like this is going to be just sex, but it has a surprising depth to the characters. They are reunited at a speed-dating event, much to Diego's liking, since she re-awakened his muse and he has been dreaming of her. Diego is a romantic and does some very sweet things for Veronica. He seems determined to do things to sweep her off her feet. If you are looking for something quick and sexy that will steal your heart, this is a great little snack that you will finish in just a few hours
Melinda has done it again!!! I absolutely love the way that she makes us all swoon for her characters in her stories and not be able to put it down until we are done. Even after that, I still long for more from these books. Melinda writes so well and brings us such heart warming stories about everyday life. Veronica is a young lady that loves working with numbers but is not always sure that those around her will share in her love of numbers. Veronica is looking for some adventure in her life and decides to just go with what happens one night at a wedding reception. This reminds me of the saying that you should just let loose sometimes and go with the flow. Diego is a musician who struggles with the whole popularity lifestyle with women just wanting to be with him because of who he is. When Diego spots Veronica at the wedding reception he knows that there is just something different about her. Once they introduce themselves to each other, there is no turning back for either of them and the sparks erupt!! Diego is an Alpha Male and loves to show Veronica that she is so much more than what she thinks of herself. Diego has such a sweet personality and only has eyes for Veronica after they meet!! I love the connection between these two and how Veronica went into the relationship not expecting anything and found her everything!! This story has a very great HEA and I am so glad!! The struggles that this couple goes through is probably what others go though all the time and I am so glad that they overcame their problems and gave each other another chance! Thanks Melinda for another great read and I can't wait to see what you have in store for us readers in the future!!
Every time I was away from this book, I couldn't wait to get back to it. This is an amazing read, and for me it was amazing (for several reasons, but primarily) because of DIEGO. Ahhh, Diego... *drool*. In all sincerity, I have not connected with a hero as much as I connected with (lusted over?) Diego in a long, long time. The author brilliantly created chemistry, not only between the heroine and hero, but between the hero and the reader, which is not something I've often seen. When it IS done, and done well, the results are epic and long standing (Jamie Fraser...Christian Grey...). Another thing I appreciated about New York Minute was that it hit the road running with the romance part. It's very difficult to keep romantic tension when the couple comes together (like, TOGETHER-together) early in a novel, but Dozier does it. The early connection of the characters only added to the conflict and plot. I truly loved this book, and I know I'll be thinking of it for a while
It's always better to just be yourself, but Veronica believes she has to make up a new her in order to keep the interest of sexy musician Diego. Diego is keeping a huge secret as well. These two start out with a passionate night, but chance of fate they cross paths again. The heat just gets hotter, but we all know the truth eventually comes out. Will it back fire for these two? Can Diego be attracted to the real Veronica?
