I purchased this book for my 7-year old and she's now 9 and we still get "kicks" and "giggles" from the imagination and adventures of the characters. It is written so that all characters can be memorized by their individual character traits. We are buying every book that comes on the shelf from the author(s)!

One in a series of four books about a little boy named Nicholas, a British schoolboy who has typical school adventures with his classmates. Fun and funny British humor giving readers a sense of elementary school in England.

Exceptional children's book. Adults and children alike fall in love. It is very funny and I can see all the situations happening in real life.

Written in France in the days when fathers all smoked cigars and headmasters assigned 100 sentences as punishment, Nicholas is still an engaging and hilarious read for youngsters and adults alike. My 7-year-old son and 10-year-old daughter both take turns reading it aloud at night. And when it's my turn to read, I have to stop sometimes because I'm laughing too hard. The little boys in the book play games (like Cowboys and Indians) that are perhaps not politically correct nowadays, and sock each other in the nose with abandon. But it's so well written and Nicholas is so charmingly mischievous yet innocent, that you can't help but find it hysterical.
