This album is beyond amazing. It really strikes a chord deep inside of you. Nickel Creek,(Chris Thile in particular), is fantastic. If you think you don't like bluegrass, don't worry. Nickel Creek manages to give their songs a bluegrass/country/pop fusion that will turn you into a bluegrass lover.

I honestly feel that things are changing since the Sept. 11th attacks on America. The world is changing and this is having a positive effect on our music. Nickel Creek's sound brings a sense of peace to all who listen to them. They have definitely helped me relax and not worry about ''what's gonna happen next''!

Nickel Creek is the most talented trio that has ever made music, in my opinion. They are the total package. They write most of their music, including my favorite ''The Lighthouse's Tale.'' They are unbelievable musicians as evidenced by their opening track, ''Ode to a Butterfly.'' Sean is an accomplished and award-winning guitar player; Chris is a virtuoso on the mandolin - easily one of the top 10 players in the world; Sara won several contests on violin. Top all of this off with their unbelievable voices, and you have more talent than any 5 bands that you wish to choose. It doesn't seem fair that a group is so talented! This is one CD that you will listen to over and over again and never tire of. If you are reading this and you have not bought this CD yet, BUY IT! Your ears will thank you later. I selfishly hope that they come out with more of the same. I will buy whatever they make!

This CD is full of beautiful songs that can capture you and take you places. You can't catorgorize this type of music other than ''Nickel Creek Music''. This music is something that I think everyone should have and get to know.

I bought this cd after I heard 'Reasons Why' playing on CMT. I was astounded by how much they sounded like Alison Krauss and Union Station. Then, I saw that Alison had produced it! They are amazing musicians and they all have great voices..Hats off to Nickel Creek!

I saw ''Nickel Creek'' open for Lyle Lovett last summer. They were more than up to the task of getting the audience motivated. This album confirms what I learned that evening--sublime voices and flawless instrumentals, combined with songs of great depth make for a CD that can't be listened to just once...or twice. I can't get enough of it!!

This group is completely limitless in its beauty. There's a chemistry that comes from inside these guys that makes you want to laugh and cry at the same time. If you're not into really powerful music, profound lyrics, and vocals that sound like echoes from heavan, than go ahead and move on to the Winger section.

There once was a time that this band was known as an up and coming band of young prodigees. Well, they have arrived. Chris Thile headlines a group of musical geniuses as they release their second album but first on the Sugar Hill label. This album is an absolute must have for acoustic music fans. Sean and Sara Wadkins and Scott Thile join the worlds greatest mandolin player for an absolutley beautiful album from beginning to end

This young group from California shines! From their original, sweet ballads to their bluegrass instrumentals they show talent and devotion. I am not a bluegrass groupie but since I heard them on Prairie Home Companion, I knew I wanted to buy their CD. Go for the gold kids! San Diego is proud of you.

I knew it had to be a good CD when my boyfriend came racing across a Barnes & Noble store to drag me to the listening station. I was amazed at what came over the headphones. It's a GREAT CD...we even bought copies as presents for friends. The musicianship is fabulous, especially considering 3 of the 4 players are barely out of their teens. If you love Celtic, bluegrass, or just good music, this is one CD you'll really enjoy.

This is a great CD to have even if your not a big bluegrass fan. Nickel Creek is very talented and keeps you interested even without lyrics on some songs. If you are looking for a CD to buy make it this one you won't be dissappointed!

This is one the best new groups I've heard.Their talent is amazing. Not strictly bluegrass, nearly all their music is written by them. Wonderful sound.

This CD is a wonderful one! It has everything from love songs, to up beat fast tempo ones. They have a unique sound. Even if 'bluegrass' isn't your 'thing' you really should try this CD anyway. The type of songs they do, the way they do them, and the stories behind them are all reasons to get it. For me they rank right up there with Bela Fleck and the Flecktones, and all the great story/song tellers! If you like songs that have a meaning or a story behide them this one's for you! Great job Nickel Creek, can't wait for the next one!

I first heard Nickel Creek perform on Prairie Home Companion. Sara Watkins is a great fiddler. Being a Tolkien fan I enjoyed seeing the ¿House of Tom Bombadil¿ track (which was a good track also). I am looking forward to buying the next CD.

If you are a fan of new acoustic music, this CD is a must-have. If you aren't a fan, this CD will show you what you've been missing. The harmonies are amazing and the varied selections make for a wonderful album. The level of musicianship for such young musicians is wonderful. You will be extremely pleased with this CD.

Just took my first listen at a listening booth in B&N..and bought it immediately! I am a huge Alison Krauss fan and knew this cd would be good and I am not dissapointed. These guys (and girl) are going to do good things and win a lot of awards for this one. I hope they never stop making music like this.

Nickel Creek's self-titled Sugar Hill debut (they have a few earlier indie albums) is frankly breath-taking. Brother and Sister Sean and Sara Watkins are virtuoso instrumentalists, guitar and violin respectively, and their playing is exceeded by the prodigious mandolin work of the young genius, Chris Thile. Chris' Dad, Scott, lays down the perfect bass tracks for the musical pyrotechnics going on above them. If you're familiar with Thile's mandolin instrumental albums it doesn't surprise you to hear more of the same miraculous lines layed out.... but then they sing! It hardly seems fair that musicians so gifted instrumentally should also be able to WAIL vocally, yet wail they do. This album is a marvel. There are MANY 'mainstream' bands that would consider themselves lucky to have a single musician of the caliber of any of the three youngest members of Nickel Creek. Now we wait for the NEXT album.

If you are an Alison Krauss fan, you'll love this cd. (Alison produced it). Her influences, along with folk and celtic influences, are evident. The harmonies are beautiful and the musicians are very talented. My only complaint is that Sara has a beautiful Alison-like voice, and I would have loved to have heard more of her. A good mix of accoustic tunes can be found here as well.

I really don't listen to fiddle music alot but I got really hooked onto this CD. Perfect for all ages.

I haven't been this excited about a CD for quite a few years. Totally solid playing and singing, great writing, and fabulous arrangements make this a can't miss album for anyone who likes acoustic music. Easily in the same league playing-wise as the early David Grisman recordings, but Nickel Creek's tight playing and broad musical range (did I mention great vocals?) is bound to gather in devotees of all stripes.

This is truly one of the few albums that I've purchased in the last decade that I can put into the CD player and play first moment to last.... and then when it's over, push the shuffle and listen to all of the songs again. You will be amazed and taken with the first listen, but even better.... your favorites will shift the more times you play it through.

I was watching CMT one day and ''Lighthouse's Tale'' came on. My first instinct was to turn the channel b/c I don't really care for bluegrass music, but something told me to listen to the song. By the time the song was over, I was in tears. The song is so beautiful and so heartwrenching! Thanks to Nickel Creek, I'm a converted Bluegrass fan! Thanks

I never heard of the band Nickel Creek until my youth minister played it on our drive down to KY. The bluegrass swept me away to the most wonderful world! The harmonies, the music and the passion in the lyrics absolutely stole my heart. I especially love When You Come Back Down, it has become my all-time-forever-favorite song. Kudos to the band, and everyone that helped making the cd that has made me fall in love with bluegrass.
