Cooper wants to go to science camp more than monkeys want bananas, but he also gets tongue-tangled more than an auctioneer chewing bubble gum. When his parents tell him he has to wait tables at his dad's restaurant to earn the money to go, he is worried that people will laugh when he blunders his words. With his best friend, Newton, as his biggest cheerleader, he may cook up a plan to mix up the menu in a good way!
Shannon Anderson lives in Indiana with her husband, Matt, and daughters, Emily and Madison. The idea for Nicken Chuggets came about because she loves to play with words.

As a first grade teacher, I love using this book as a mentor text for phonemic awareness. The kids love the spoonerisms and I let them create their own afterwards.
