Want the perfect book to help ring in the New Year? Well look no further. This story is written in rhyme and includes you in this family's preparations to celebrate the happy event. They decorate their home, buy sparklers, streamers, and party hats, gorge on homemade cupcakes, and play games that the whole family can participate in and enjoy. The little ones are allowed in on the festivities but do you think they can stay awake until that clock starts chiming in the new year? They start looking kind of droopy and tired as the evening progresses...will they make it? This is a fun story for beginner readers and a winner as a read-aloud. The illustrations are bright and colourful with lots of detail and pizzaz. The illustrator captures the expressions of the family members perfectly, especially of the child who gets to eat three whole cupcakes! Heavenly. I am sure this is a book you will want to add to your holiday collection!
All the Night Before books by Natasha Wing are excellent! Written in the C. Clement Moore, Twas the Night Before Christmas", these books are great - a special way to celebrate a special day (birthdays, New Years, Valentine's Day, Easter, Summer Vacation, the first day of a school year, etc.)!
