Kit Colbana is always biting off more than she can chew. She has a knack for finding trouble. This time, though, trouble finds her. Someone from her past drops a case into her lap that she just can’t refuse…literally.

People on the Council are dying left and right and she’s been requested to investigate the deaths. The number one suspect? Her lover, Damon. If she doesn’t clear his name, he gets a death sentence. Even if she succeeds? They still might try to execute him. Oh, and she’s not allowed to tell him about the case, either.

The stakes are high this time around, higher than they’ve ever been. Kit may be forced to pay the ultimate price to save her lover’s life…a price that could destroy her and everything she loves.

~Reviewed by SUZANNE & posted at Under the Covers Book Blog …if I loved Blade Song, the first book in the series, than I am practically humping Night Blade!~ Under the Covers Kit Colbana knows there will be trouble when her ex walks in to her offices and gives her a job she can’t refuse. If she does, the man she has fallen in love with Damon Lee, alpha of the Cat Clan will be executed. Why has he been killing members of the Assembly, could it have anything to do with her, has Kit’s nightmarish past finally caught up with her? Wow…this book was just WOW with big jingly bells on. It has blown me away, if I loved Blade Song, the first book in the series, than I am practically humping Night Blade! Night Blade was fast paced and exciting, full of action and some shockers, J.C. Daniels isn’t afraid to straight out knock you down with some of the events she wallops you with! Be warned the last few chapters of this book aren’t for the faint hearted, I was crying like a baby by the final page but was still left panting for more. But it isn’t just the plot that I am becoming addicted to with the Colbana Files series it is the also the characters. Kit is definitely a new favourite character of mine, I love a good UF heroine, they are tough; they are sarcastic; they are socially awkward; they have a soft spot and they have excellent taste in sexy, dangerous men. Kit is no different and although I may be familiar with this type of heroine she is written really well; Night Blade has continued developing her character and I find I like her more and more. And what book isn’t complete without a little bit of romance? Night Blade manages to add a hot injection of romance without slowing down the fast pace of the book. Damon and Kit’s relationship is just as fascinating as the actual plot and it manages to be sweet and sexy as hell all at once. This book ended on one hell of an intriguing place, it was almost a cliffhanger and I will be pouncing on the next book as soon as I can, it is one of my favourite reads so far this year, so get on it! *ARC provided by author via Netgalley

I didn't think this one could be better than the first book but I was wrong. This is absolutely, undeniably the best book I've read this year.

I love this series and cannot wait for the next one.  The story pulled me in right from the start and wouldn't let go.  The end of the book was emotionally draining in the best of ways.  I cannot wait for the next book in Kit's saga.

This is the second book in the series and I lived it just as much as the first. The aurthor has a writing style that I lived because it keeps you reading, it is hard to put down. You really need to read the first book for the character build and story line as this book continues from the first. I can't wait to read the next book. I totally reccomend you read this!

I picked this one up right after I finished Blade Song expecting to be enchanted and was not disappointed. You feel the characters and the book brought me to tears. I cannot wait for Broken Blade to come out now. I've found a new "must buy" author.

I wasn’t sure when I finished the first book in the series (Blade Song) if I was going to like the second. I went ahead and got it and I am glad I did.  Now I can’t wait for the third.  This is a well written story that draws you in and doesn’t let you go.  If you haven’t read Blade Song start with it.

This series draws me further into Kit's world with each book. The emotional roller coaster had me screaming for more at the end....I'm on the edge of my seat waiting for what happens next to Kit, to Damon, to Justin. and Doyle is an awesome complex character!

This is book two in a new series. I really enjoyed this book because it pulls at all your emotional strings. You get frustrated, sad, mad, and happy when the character does. It is really well done.  I love the characters and all the trouble that have to go through. The problems some people might have about this book is that it does have grammatical errors also there is torture and rape mentioned in the book. Neither is detailed but it is stated that it  is being done. I can't wait to see what comes next.  I recommend this book.

OMG!!! I loved this book. Finished last night and was like, WTH?? I don't know what to do now. I want to move on to the next book. This book doesn't end in a cliffhanger (which I appreciate, I hate cliffhangers. I understand them, that doesn't mean I have to like them), but I'm still drooling over the next book. Ms. Daniels is a sadist. I read a review where someone said she takes her pound of flesh from her characters in this book. I think she took more than one pound. Poor Kit keeps getting beat down over and over again. This series is my new favorite from this author (and her other pen name, Shiloh Walker). My old favorite was the FBI Physics. This is way better. If you like Urban Fantasy or Paranormal Romance, you will love this series. You will need to be sure to read book 1 (Blade Song) first.

If you want to spend the day frusterated and depressed read this. Does not end. Sad, as this novelette showed enormous promise, and the first book was okay.
