Overview

Winner of the 2017 International Vampire Film and Arts Festival Golden Stake Award, Night Walker will cast aside all you think you know about the undead. The Undeadly Secrets series is perfect for fans of True Blood and Underworld, where the streets of Sydney are a battleground, and the humans are much more than prey...

When Alexandra Hensley meets Dante Delavega, owner of the hottest nightclub in Sydney, she had no idea how he would affect her life.
Alex learns Dante holds the key to her past and there is something she must know. When she discovers what really happened to her parents, she unlocks an Australian secret kept hidden since the First Fleet.
But no truth comes without a cost and a secret of this magnitude has only remained hidden due to one simple rule: they join us or die. Word of her discovery spreads to those whose sole purpose is to keep the secret buried, and Dante's greatest battle begins. Alex must be silenced, and Dante is all that is standing in their way. Can he truly save Alex? Or will Alex be yet another victim of knowing the Undeadly Secret?

This is a great book and I highly recommend it to any vampire/paranormal fans looking for their next addiction. This book really stands out with a unique take on vampire history as well as present day practices. The characters (both human and vampire) are so well written and weave together nicely. It was a really exciting read and I can totally see this being a movie. If you're on the fence, jump :) you won't regret it.

Just one Word: Dante Move over Rice and Meyer because Speer is setting up to not just shake the streets of Sydney but the whole hierarchy of the Vampire Genre. There are two new names in your world: Speer and Dante and they make a Kicka** team. Speer has intertwined history, modern day politics and fiction together so well, he left this conspiracy theorist wondering: Is Dante real? If so, where is he? Can I find him? Can he find me, please...even just in my dreams? This journey is going to give it all to you and leave you begging for more. You are going to lust and love, obsess and hate, fear and hope. Plot twists abound and are going to have you questioning your ability to judge what is real, right along with the characters. And along the way, there is Dante, who made this all about the eyes girl...turn into a fang girl, darn those lips and fangs. Speer is setting himself up to join the greats that keep me one-clicking on sight....1. It is a fast paced read with a great plot that kept me up all night to finish it in one sitting and left me with a doozy of a book hangover. 2. He emotionally connected me to the character's, whether I was hurting and getting butterflies for the ones I loved or yelling at and threatening bodily violence upon the ones I hated. And in the end all this booklover can say is job well done, Mr. Speer, well done indeed!

Vampires roam the streets of Sydney but no one knows and no mortal is supposed to know unless they are owned by a vampire or if they are a vampire. Any mortal finding out about vampires must either be turned or killed, thus says Vincent the King of Sydney vamps. Dante does not adhere to Vincent's disdain of humans or his rules. He lives on his own away from the pack. He runs a very successful nightclub and has an unusual interest in Alex one of the patrons that frequents his bar. The vampire lore in this book is a bit different than in many others. Their history is explored as are the ways in which they die, love, eat and turn. The story itself was interesting and while some of it was a bit predictable there are still many mysteries yet to be uncovered.

The last vampire book I read was The Strain Trilogy and it did not disappoint. Night Walker is well written and I could not help but compare it to an Australian True Blood. The story is funny, on the edge, clever, and is topped off with some hot scenes. The characters come to life and you will quickly fall in love with some and others you will get annoyed by as soon as they reappear. A very enjoyable book that puts a bit of Australian history in the mix. Expect some surprises. Aaron Speer is an author to watch for. I can’t wait until book 2!
