A Navy SEAL. A one-night stand. An attraction that can't be denied...
Ten years of dedication to the Navy taught SEAL Jon Rudnick one thing--he's not afraid to risk life and limb for his country. But when navigating military red tape begins to present more challenges than the enemy it makes Jon question his future.

So does Alison Cressly, the woman who doesn't do one-night stands or SEALs but who broke both rules with Jon the eve of his deployment to Afghanistan. He can't get her out of his head--not while away and not now that he's back.

When Ali's life is threatened and military rules won't allow him to intervene, Jon decides it's time to take back control. The question is what would a SEAL do as a civilian? Jon's got skills, drive and an idea, as well as a few teammates willing to cover his six. And he's got the hope of more with Ali.

A team of sexy SEALs, a terrorist threat, and an attraction that can't be denied . . . it all comes together in this launch of the Hot SEALs from New York Times and USA Today bestselling contemporary romance author Cat Johnson.

You will love this. It's a short read, only 160 pages, but packed with everything you want in a book. Love, intrigue, suspense. watch 2 people fall in love. It's part of a the beginning when former military men form their own Security company. They call is GAPS. After leaving the military service, where they had trained 10 or more years to do what Special Ops do. Now they wanted to use their knowledge to earn a living by building a Security Company. They would be privately owned and hire out to Big company's. Ali's life is threatened and Jon is still in the military, He is planning to leave the service. While still active Military he can't help Ali. But he finds a way.. And he has friends who will cover his back. See how he gets Ali back...

I'm not a fan of novellas but I love Seal stories so I bought it. It was pretty darned good. Enough so I bought the next one in the series too. If it was 300 plus pages it would probably be a 5 star. 3 stars is the best I give for anything under 200 pages

Jon is a Seal, Ali lives a boring day to day life, but when they meet, sparks start to fly. Neither of them can deny the attraction, so much so that Ali breaks her rules and not only contemplates a life with a Seal, but also has a one night stand right before he ships overseas for a mission. She would have never guessed that she was on his mind just as much as he was on hers. I like stories about two people that are different, but seem to have great chemistry and a desire to make a long term committment work for them, this is definitely one of those stories.

Good beginning for a series with very interesting people.

There is not a lot of relationship development. There is more navy seal experience. It seems like a good start to more of a story. Maybe in the next books.

Ali doesn’t date SEALs or do one-night-stands but she broke these rules for Jon. She knew he was being deployed the next day so there wasn’t going to be another date. Even though they both agreed to one night, each was upset that the other hadn’t tried to get in touch. When they see each other again, months later, the attraction is still strong. When Ali’s life is in danger, Jon wants to save her but the military wouldn’t let him. He made some big changes in his life so that he could watch out for Ali and have her in his life. I love stories with SEALS and Jon and his team was great. We were introduced to some hot ex-SEALs that always had each other’s back. These guys were so close; they were more like family than friends. Definitely, men I want to know more about so I am glad this is the first book in the series. This action-packed story had everything I like in a book. It was so well written that I could easily picture the men in their military situations. The fast pace kept me flipping the pages to find out what would happen next. And the steamy romance just added to my enjoyment. After reading this great book I can’t wait to read the rest of this series.

I skipped thru most of first by this author...because she ruined the story with the one-night stand between hero and heroine.

Other than the sex scene the story was a bit flat and uneventful.

Way too short .

A captivating military romance... "Don't let the tattoo fool you. I'm no angel." NIGHT WITH A SEAL by Cat Johnson is a captivating military romance. It was so enjoyable that as soon as I finished listening to this first installment, I jumped right into the next audio in this series, SAVED BY A SEAL This first installment was a relatively short listen at just under five hours, but there was a lot packed in those precious hours including a brisk, steamy romance and some high-stakes action that had me on the edge of my seat. This book introduces us to a slew of hot, highly trained alpha Navy SEALS. It appears that each of them will be featured in a future installment. I can't wait to read each of their stories. NIGHT WITH A SEAL also sets the wheels in motion for the formation of a group of mercenaries made up of this close-knit group of Navy SEALS. This was the story of Navy SEAL Jon Rudnick and civilian Alison Cressley. They had a quick one-night stand. Neither forgot the other though there was no further interaction between them until Alison's life was put in danger. Their story was told from both Jon's and Alison's POV - alternating between each - so the reader understands what is going on in each of their heads and why they behaved as they did. I look forward to reading more about this couple in future installments. I listened to the audiobook narrated by Craig Jessen, who has a clear, crisp voice. This was the first time I've ever listened to him. He delivered a solid performance with pacing that was right on and with both male and female genuine-sounding voices. He differentiated between the characters to where I always knew who was speaking from his voice. I thought his performance was a perfect fit for the story. Based on this introduction to his vocalizations, I would not hesitate to pick up another audio performed by him. I'm so glad I was introduced to Cat Johnson and her addictive books at the CY2016 Coastal Magic Convention. I'd already fallen in love with her cowboys and now her Seals have stolen my heart. This book kept me riveted from the beginning to the end. If you enjoy macho military guys who exude off-the-wall chemistry in well-plotted stories abounding with high-stakes action, I highly recommend that you check out Cat's Hot Seals series! This book was okay. A good portion of the book was wasted on "mission talk" and other wasted topics. Surely these topics could have had a mention rather than dedicated chapters. Personally, I would have preffered more focus on the romance factor. Especially considering its only 110 pages. When you only have such a small amount of pages to work witn you should make them count... So the writing was decent, story had good bones, but fell short on the focus of the story. Id love to read the following books, however, Im sure its more of the same. I simply prefer more romance.
