This book is a beautiful! Many times little black girl are raised to think that being dark skinned is ugly. As a dark skinned black girl it was funny that I never knew I was dark skinned until middle school where I went to a majority black school. Before middle school I went to a majority white school and never heard anyone talk about my dark skin. In my household all four of us kids were dark skinned along with our father so are parents never mentioned anything negative about our dark skin, because it was just our skin. Our skin didn’t determine our beauty, personality, our intellect, or how others saw us. It’s sad that it’s black people who make other black weather its parents or children in school think they are not good enough, because of the color of their skin. As a black woman I love my black skin and I want to be as black as I can be! =) This book is so cute and I believe it’s a great book for kids that may think them being different is not a good thing
