Overview

From crashing his dad's car into a barbed-wire fence in India to rear-ending a swanky Mercedes half a world away, the thirty short stories in this memoir depict a restless immigrant who is always on the move.

If ordering iced coffee in Singapore is a struggle, it pales in comparison with dining at a fine Thai restaurant in Vietnam, only to discover that he doesn't have enough money to pay for the meal. Be it by plane, car, or train, or a voyage of no return from teens to middle age, the author must often summon his wits to wriggle out of uncomfortable situations.
