No Foolin' By Lisa Scott Willowdale Romances Book 1 Kate Riley, lives in the small town of Willowdale, North Carolina. Her job as the school nurse isn't enough to pay off her debts so when an offer comes to pretend to be a girlfriend for a month, how can she refuse? She just has to keep her heart safe from the handsome hunk. Teague Reynolds is known as T-Rex in Hollywood. Just like his namesake he stomps and shreds everything in his way. Well in his case it's the hearts of the women he dates and dumps. Now he has a secret in Willowdale and will do anything to keep it from the public eye. Having a girlfriend from the same town can only help his cause. This story was full of unique characters who came to life on the pages of the book. And plenty of misunderstandings, things just are not always as they seem to be. Definitely a page turner that was hard to put down until the final words. There is a couple side stories happening as well. I read the previous books from Willowdale; The Willowdale Romance Collection Volume 1. Three short stories that introduce the reader to this small town and some of the characters in this story. I personally enjoy series books and would recommend reading those first to have the whole story. Book two in this series is Man of the Month. **Sexual situations **Received through Publisher/NetGalley for review

I've been a reader of Lisa Scott books and have enjoyed every one. Her Flirts books have been great vacation reads. I was thrilled to receive a copy of this full length book to review and Lisa's skill with dialogue and turns of phrase did not disappoint. While I enjoyed the Flirts, I really loved No Foolin' because in this full length book Lisa was able to write well-drawn and flawed characters and bring them around almost full circle to overcome their fears and their pasts and get to the HEA.  I liked that the plot twists weren't those of "mis-communication" and "if only I'd asked a question it would be all cleared up" type that I've seen in some romances. The primary plot and the two secondary plots melded well and even though I was hoping for a HEA there were a few times when I wondered if it was going to happen! Spoiler alert: it does!  The heroine, Kate, proved that she could be happy and fulfilled without having the hero, Teague, in her life and I liked that she didn't go home from her adventures pining for him, but jumped back into making a life for herself so she could forget about him. The hero's transformation was also great because he had the thread of goodness in him all along (in the secondary plot) but it was brought full force at the end of the book when everything was wrapping up.  It was a satisfying read with flawed characters that were easy to fall in love with and root for until they resolved their issues and found their HEA! I'm looking forward to the second in the series!  There was the "mystery" of the "other woman" in Teague's life that played out nicely, as well.

Lisa Scott has written another 5-star story. Grabbing you from the get-go, No Foolin' weaves thoroughly developed characters in and out of dilemmas that seem insurmountable. Kate Riley, the main character, deals with the disasters while she also lives every woman's fantasy. This is a page-turner. No foolin'.

Movie star Teague Reynolds (T-Rex) needs a cover for his sudden visits to Willowdale, NC. Pretty, curvy Kate Riley—desperate for cash to pay the back taxes on her Victorian home in Willowdale—agrees to pose as Teague’s girlfriend. Kate quickly finds that having a fashion wardrobe, her own stylist, and a side trip to romantic Maui with smokin’ hot T-Rex has a down side—relentless paparazzi, a league of jealous women, and a publicist that won’t let a wholesome, small-town girl ruin T-Rex’s image. Lisa Scott revs up the sexual tension between Teague and Kate, but away from the cameras, on a sensual journey to lush Hana, they can’t deny the depth of their feeling for each other. Can a dream so intense and so Hollywood become happy-ever-after for Teague and Kate? Not without banishing secrets and taking care of old business. Scott’s handling of the characters’ growth is a two-hanky winner. If you’re looking for a sexy, fast read that will warm your heart in the end, grab Lisa Scott’s first Willowdale Romance, No Foolin’!
