Editorial Reviews

Library Journal
A short prolog, dated 1896, provides historical reference and anonymous plans for murder and deception at sea. The narrative turns to the honeymoon voyage of New York police detective Matt Devlin and new socialite wife Brooke. When an investment broker acquaintance of theirs goes overboard on the first night, Devlin immediately suspects murder. At first, he refuses to become involved, but does so after the ship's detective arrests the wrong man. Class distinctions, incipient feminist yearnings, and ship descriptions paint the period. A pleasant enough read, but nothing fancy.

Enjoyable #2 in the series! I did read "murder on the cliffwalk"a while ago. This is A great cozy...but doesn't take place in a manor or village. It takes place on a ship traveling to Europe. Not hard to figure out what really happened within the mystery, but its the journey of the characters. And the scenic description had me picturing myself onboard this ship. Fun, cozy, light mystery.
