It took me a little while to read this book, not because the book is hard to read, but because there is so much info to process. And when I read these types of books, I enjoy taking notes, as well as applying things to my life.  Carol's book speaks to the heart of the matter - Living the abundant life God offers. Although not always easy, she gives a plan on how to accomplish that. This book has great lessons on Love, Self-discipline, Worship, Peace, and living the Bible as daily reality. Some of the things that spoke to me through this book "It's not so much about seeing the good stuff or the bad stuff, but its completely about seeing God stuff." Peace - It is not something one should pray for, but in reality peace is a by-product of complete trust in the Lord and in His character. Rather than begging for peace, a wiser choice would be worship and then anticipate what is given you in return. The abundant life is a promise, but does not come easily.  Trials, learning Patience, Trust, Giving, finding Joy - all these things come into play. Carol relates a story in each chapter about someone who found abundant life. Those stories usually include suffering and pain - yet in the end, God worked through the situation to the reaping of abundant life. If you desire something more than the ordinary. This book is for you. I would highly recommend it.  I received this book courtesy of TBCN in exchange for my unbiased opinion. I was not required to give a positive review.

This book is a must read.  Carol McLeod has written a book that shows you how you can live the abundant Christian life.  Each chapter begins with a mini biography of great Christians in history and then goes into detail about how their lives exhibit one aspect of the abundant life.  She weaves Biblical truth and practical tips in such a way that you can apply them to your life. She offers suggestions about dealing with  and rising above difficult circumstances and people.  Expect to live the abundant life and God will help you and will give you the tools you need is a recurring theme throughout the book. I was convicted and challenged many times.  I have already revisited a couple chapters to get me through hard moments.  This is a book I will pick up again and again.  I received a copy of No More Ordinary by the publisher through The Book Club Network in exchange for an honest review,  which I have given.

No More Ordinary: Living the Life You Were Made For By Carol Burton McLeod Carol McLeod has given us a book that’s sole purpose is to help us walk in an abundant life. The first thing you notice in this book is that her definition of an abundant life is not grounded in your bank account. The next thing you notice is that she gives you some very simple steps to achieving an abundant life. She uses the lives of real people (some famous, some not) to illustrate the steps along the way to an abundant life. She also draws examples from Scripture to make her points. Each chapter is thoughtfully ended with a prayer, life declaration, Scripture verse, and a thought to uplift you. All aimed at helping you internalize the truth of that chapter. For anyone truly seeking a closer walk with the Lord and the abundant life only found in Him, I highly recommend this book. You will not be disappointed, but will be lifted to a higher plain if you follow through with the principles presented in each chapter of this book. I received this book free of charge through Book Club Fun for my honest review.

With excellent scriptural references, true life stories of faith and solid bible teaching, No More Ordinary is a fantastic book to help take the believer’s faith to a new level. Before each chapter, Ms. McLeod tells true life stories of people who endured struggles, some beyond comprehension, and how their lives demonstrate walking a life of abundance regardless of circumstances. I loved the way she incorporated the stories with the teaching and found the book to be very informative and thought provoking. I too am a “word-aholic” as Ms. McLeod refers to herself so I thoroughly enjoyed the sections where she expounds on the Greek and Hebrew meanings behind words used throughout the Bible. No More Ordinary is a book I would highly recommend! I received this book from the Book Club Network in exchange for my honest opinion.

This was a very inspiring book! Carol McLeod shows us how our lives can be anything but ordinary. I love the way she introduces each chapter with a hero of the faith. Sometimes we don't know who she is talking about until the end of the chapter. She also uses examples from te Bible to show us how to live an extraordinary life! I would recommend this book to anyone needing a little encouragement to live the life we were meant to live. I received this book from bookfun for my honest opinion.

I truly enjoyed the way Carol Burton McLeod presented the Biblical lessons in her book, No More Ordinary. She began each chapter with a story of a person in recent history and then showed how that person’s life illustrates the author’s point. Each chapter was filled with many Bible passages so that the reader will come away fully convinced that he or she can no longer live the Christian life in an ordinary way. I highly recommend this book to all readers who want to go deeper in their Christian faith.
