This novel is inspired by the true-life story of a young woman raised in the Jehovah's Witness religion. Sarah obeyed all the rules and married a prominent man. This man became her tormentor, abusing her mentally, physically and sexually throughout their marriage in the belief that he has the scriptural authority to do so.
And when Sarah looks for help, the community, including her parents, turn their backs on her.
But Sarah is determined to make a better life for herself and her two-year old daughter. And she isn't alone. Risking her own position in the congregation, her beloved grandmother rises to Sarah's aid.
Follow Sarah's remarkable journey of abuse, loss, love and renewal.
Author S.L. Wilharm and her husband live with their growing family in Benson, Arizona. She was motivated to share her story out of the wish to bring hope to others who feel trapped by their circumstances. This is Wilharm's first book.

Sara is living in a nightmare, being abused in every way possible. Her parents and people in her church knew about it and did not help her at all. She is a very strong woman. She finds a way out, she saves herself and her daughter with no help. I highly recommed this book. It is a must read. Especially if you are living a life like Sara, you think there is no way out but there is.
