As parents of older kids, our first reaction to reading this wonderful book has been, "I wish we would have had this when they were younger." But, reading further, there's lots of important advice for parents of high school and college kids as well, because as we can attest, parenting doesn't stop with high school graduation. The issues just get more complicated. This is a great read, written in chapters short enough to squeeze into the few gap minutes young parents have in their long days. In contrast, I read the whole book in two sittings because I have the luxury of a few quiet hours now that the noisemakers we raised are on their own. The suggestions the book makes are universally applicable, no matter what your family size or structure. I highly recommend this for all parents who worry about whether they are "doing it right." Spoiler alert- you are doing it right, but there are easy and commensense ways you can make it all more memorable and meaningful for you and for your kids whatever their age. But, as always, it's easier when you start young.

I don't usually buy parenting books because I resent people thinking they know how to raise my kids better than I do. But after I read the excerpt and review of this book in Parents Magazine, I thought I'd give it a try. OMG what a revelation No Regrets Parenting has been for me. It doesn't tell me how to parent. It doesn't say I should be more free-range or helicopter or French like Bebe. It just tells me how to make more of the time I have with my 3 young kids. Time is everything, and this book has already changed SO MUCH about how I spend my kid time. In 2 weeks, I am already feeling less burdened and more privileged as a parent. I feel so much less guilt about times I can't be with them. Thank you for this wonderful gift to parents!
