I received this book for free from eBook Discovery. I voluntarily review this book. This is my honest review. After arriving in San Francisco's port, Captain Marc Aragon ventures to his favorite brothel. Much to his surprise, a gorgeous woman drops from the second story into his waiting arms with no memory of who she is or what she is doing there. Against his better judgement, Marc agrees to help her escape the brothel and try to rebuild her life. When his brother Miguel recognizes her as famous actress Genevieve LeSage and informs her that she recently married a gambler named Raymond Stark, Marc agrees to take her on a journey to help her try to recovery her memory and locate her husband. But along the way, despite all they learn about her past, Raymond begins to wonder if he will ever be able to let her go. But the secrets of her past and threats from the present may conspire to keep them apart no matter what their wishes... This novel has non-stop action and a clever and surprising plot. The characters are multidimensional and well-developed, and the dialogue iis witty and brisk. While the plot is suspenseful and the situations often perilous, the scenes are skilfully injected with humor without descending into the ridiculous. Anyone who enjoys historical fiction with plenty of action and romance will love this book.
