Overview

Jodi Taylor's best-selling series The Chronicles of St Mary is back with a bang... St Mary's has been rebuilt and it's business as usual for the History department. But first, there's the little matter of a seventeenth-century ghost that only Mr Markham can see. Not to mention the minor inconvenience of being trapped in the Great Fire of London...and an unfortunately-timed comfort break at Thermopylae leaving the fate of the western world hanging in the balance. Re-join Max's madcap journey through time in Jodi Taylor's fifth inter-dimensional instalment No Time Like the Past.

About the Author

Jodi Taylor, International Woman of Mystery, spent some time working undercover for North Yorkshire County Library Service. Heavily disguised as the world's most incompetent Facilities Manager she shifted dead dogs, fell out of mobile libraries, and spent far too much time in the gents' toilets. The idea to re-write history first came to her while studying history A’ level at an evening class. Just One Damned Thing After Another is her first novel and was originally self-published on ebook where it was downloaded by more than 60,000 readers on Amazon.

It always seemed strange to me that a building as old as St Marys should have no ghost.

No Headless Monk.

No Grey Lady.

No sinister shade haunting the corridors, uttering blood-curdling warnings of vengeance and retribution – apart from Dr Bairstow distributing his Deductions from Wages to Pay for Damages forms, of course – so when Markham claimed to have seen a ghost, no one believed him and the reason we didnt believe him was because he was the only person ever to see it.

Then it happened again.

And then again.

And still no one ever saw anything. No one except for Markham, bolting into my office, as agitated as Id ever seen him, and gabbling about something that no one else could see.

We didnt realise that the reason he was the only person ever to see the ghost, was because he was the ghost.

Clever and witty, this series is a readers delight. I found myself taking frequent breaks from the book, to look up the many historical references. It only added to the fun. Now I know the meaning of to swive. I hope you take a chance on this series, and by all means, start with book one. And don't stop because each book just gets better. I give this an A+.
