Things are a bit bumpy in Geek Paradise
My mother’s life goal has been to see me, geek extraordinaire Lexi Carmichael, happily married. So bringing my first boyfriend, Slash, home for dinner has me hyperventilating. Things get a lot worse when bullets start flying over our corn chowder.
Now the entire alphabet soup of government agencies want my help finding the man behind the attack--Johannes Broodryk, a cyber mercenary I foiled on my last case. He wants revenge and he’s taken something of mine to ensure I’ll play, so it’s game on. But the government has its own agenda, and Slash is not on board with the plan.
Although I’m more comfortable with computer code than commandos, I’ve been assigned a team of Navy SEALs to help bring Broodryk down. The question is, will they survive me long enough to solve his cryptic puzzles and save the day?

Another fantastic book in the Lexi Carmicheal series. I love Lexi and how socially awkward she is, despite (or maybe because of) her brilliant mind. Lexi is forced into an untenable situation to try to save her friend. Unfortunately, her skills are computer and math based. Throwing her into the wild (or even a shopping mall) can lead to disaster. For the first time in her life, Lexi might have to learn how to play well with others. This book is the perfect blend of humor and mystery, with a bit of romance. I recommend very highly. Julie Moffett is on my must read authors' list. Thank you to Netgalley for providing a complementary copy in exchange for an honest review.
This book is # 6 in the Lexi Carmichael Mystery series. This book can be read as a standalone novel. Since this book contains spoilers about the series and characters, I recommend reading the series in the order intended. Lexi has so much to take on in this book. Her best friend, Basia, is missing. She has to find her. Clues are not helping - where to turn? She also has to deal with her mother meeting the latest man in her life. Serious fun and laughter ensues since this meeting of the parents is so much fun! Lexi is very analytical and smart. She tends to need help with the other parts in life. This book has great humor. It is a lot of fun to read. It is also a great mystery. The fans of this series will be thrilled to read this installment. ***This ARC copy was given by Netgalley and its publishers in exchange for an honest review only.
I love the fascinating and fun, No One Lives Twice! The plot is amazingly complex as are the wonderful characters. Lexi life is sure to change after this experience; it is a good thing this is a series. That feeling that there is a “next” in Lexi’s life is a perfect example of how Ms Moffett brings her characters to life so they feel real even in this dramatic and exciting setting. After Lexi’s best friend has disappears, some papers in a foreign language arrive from the missing Basia. Even getting them translated didn't provide any clues. Soon Lexi is confronted by two dangerous men and her apartment is been broken into and the contract disappears. The guy (hot) who gave Basia the papers to translate contacts Lexi and he seems ok but everyone keeps warning her not to trust him? Her two super computer hacker/geek friends connect he with a guy who, it seems, can do anything Including breaking into he apartment at will and messing with their computers. Did I mention also hot with an Italian accent. Lexi’s experience as an minor, her words) NSA tech don’t provide much help with all that comes at her, but her brain the both the old and new men in her life keep things rolling.
Julie Moffett's Lexi Carmichael series is a great series if you enjoy mystery and action with wit and romance thown in for good measure. Lexi is a super geek finding her way through the world with a super group of friends. She finds herself the target of a crazy man who does not play fair. I laughed and cried. I could not put it down until I finished.
Great Series! This is a great series; this is the sixth book in the Lexi Carmichael series by Julie Moffett. I have only read a couple books in this series, but once you read one you will want to go read them all. Lexi is a geek and socially clueless, when she brings home her first boyfriend the sexy Slash, she is having trouble explaining all of the questions her parents are asking so when bullets start flying at the dinner table, she thinks it can’t get much worse. Now she has to work with the Navy Seals to find the man behind the attack. If you are looking for a book that will keep you reading all night, that has romance, humor, and mystery then you need to read this book. I am looking forward to reading the next book in this series.
