Overview

One man, one woman, one God, and one big problem.
Malcolm Jamieson wasn't the man who got away, but the man God instructed Hallison Dinkins to set free. Instead of their explosive love affair leading them to the wedding altar, God diverted Hallison to the prayer altar during her first visit back to church in years.

Malcolm was convinced that his woman had lost her mind to break off their engagement. Didn't Hallison know that Malcolm, a tenth generation descendant of a royal African tribe, couldn't be replaced? Once Malcolm concedes that their relationship can't be salvaged, he issues Hallison his own edict, "If we're meant to be with each other, we'll find our way back. If not, that means that there's a love stronger than what we had."

His words begin to haunt Hallison until she begins to regret their break up, and that's where their story begins. Someone has to retreat, and God never loses a battle

This is my favorite book out of this series.  It discusses the necessity of placing God and His will before everyone/thing else.

Although I consider myself a spiritual person, and know the power of God, I do think that the writer went a bit overboard with the description of how God is supposed to come first in your life. It was necessary but overstated. Talk about it, but then get on with the story. It dragged on too long. I did understand the characters and their strength. I understood their need to have God in their life. It was refreshing for the writer to point out that Christians do make mistakes and not be self righteous when others do too.

Malcolm and Hallison compliment one another so well that they have decided to spend the rest of their lives together. Things for the couple are great until Hallison decides to go back to church. She realizes that in order to get what God has for her she must begin to live a more Godly life. Unfortunately religion causes Malcolm and Hallison to see things differently ultimately ending in their relationship. Hallison and Cheney, Malcolm's sister-in-law, are best friends. It will be next to impossible avoiding one another. Hallison still loves Malcolm, but she knows that she needs to find a God fearing man. Malcolm has also decided to move on and he has just the right candidate. Will this be the end of Hallison and Malcolm's love? While I really enjoyed "Not Guilty of Love," it seemed a little too over the top based on the religion, for my liking. I really enjoyed book one, "Guilty of Love" and I'm looking forward to the next installment. Reviewed by: Carmen

Not Guilty Of Love By Pat Simmons This is the first book I've read by Pat Simmons, but I'm headed out to get her other two books. She is a winner! Her books are real and heart felt. You'll want to know more about the people who populate her books. Order your copy of Not Guilty of Love today. Not Guilty of Love by Pat Simmons is an adventure in to the real lives of our friends, family and associates. Her characters are so real; I expect to see Malcolm Jamieson, the warrior prince, handsome and arrogant in his self-confidence, come storming out of his office. A man, who knew what he wanted and felt he deserved it, no matter what God had say. My heart went out to Hallison, Halli for the position her faith put her in. They have the chemistry and in fact the true love needed for the happy-ever-after of a life time, if they could just get past God's rules. Halli can't avoid the messages the Lord is sending her and she finds even though she loves Malcolm with all her heart she doesn't want, to disobey. She is sure to not follow the Teachings will poison their love. She feels she has to be strong for him and herself. The family provides many occasions for Halli and Malcolm to be exposed to each other. Halli would love to just avoid that strong stimulating body she craves. Malcolm is convinced that he and his love will overcome "This Religious" problem. Family secrets muddy the waters further, as more crises erupt. Halli and Malcolm go separate ways only to find that, that wasn't the universe's plan. God will have the final say in all things. Pat Simmons brings you true real life love, family, history, religion and unforgettable characters in one short book, Not Guilty of Love.
