This is the most in depth material I have read regarding the fate of the polish exiles. Very few books have been written about the war from the vantage point of the the non-jewish Poles. You see what communism is from the perspective of those who have no voice, and how some people will do anything to anyone, to get ahead. This manuscript is filled with stories of both heartbreak, and unbelievable heroism.

I believe it is a most accurate look into their past. I personally found it had too much detail. I say that because I didn't get the sense that the details were there intentionally to give me a clearer picture or feel of the time. As an example, it took 84 lines (default) to say that they couldn't get accurate news from any newspaper, and went on to telling what each newspaper was like. No disrespect to the authors, but I felt it was like watching a good but long movie, and thinking "when will it end."
