An Award Winning Autobiography, Nothing but Respect- A True Victim to Victory Story tells the Author's story of tragedies and triumphs. Julie-Anne opens up her life so that others may learn from her choices, share in her feelings, and know that they are never truly alone in this world. Although the book takes the reader through many rough years and poor choices, it also shows readers that, no matter how dark the past has been, the present and the future remain blank slates.

Despite being raped twice, carrying the guilt and shame for more than 20 years, attempting suicide, and being diagnosed with Fibromyalgia, this Author shows that forgiveness IS possible. No matter what your circumstances, the life of your dreams is within your reach!

About the Author

Dear Readers,Of course this section is supposed to tell you all about me. However, since my book is Autobiographical, you'll learn more than you ever wanted to know about me by reading it!

I will tell you WHY I decided to expose my entire life and all of the "skeletons in my closet" to the world: I am here simply to help others. By writing my story from a place of authenticity, sharing both the darkness and the light I've experienced, and discussing how I've managed to overcome it all, I hope to help others avoid the mistakes I've made. Lessons are MUCH easier learned from others! My story isn't always easy to read as I went through some years that I'm far from proud of. I also went through a few that were pure hell on earth, but in the end, here I am! Triumphant! I LOVE my life! Life is a spectacular gift to be nurtured and cherished. I cannot believe that I once thought that ending mine was the best option I had!

I asked an old friend who'd seen me through a lot of years to read the first draft of Nothing but Respect and this is what he had to say: "Wow. You had a lot to say and you said it. Kudos to you! I certainly knew a lot of those stories but not all of them. I didn't know the full weight of what you were going through at the Sheriff's Department, and with the combination of Fibromyalgia and Depression. I am proud of you to have come through all of that with such a positive attitude and to be doing so much to inspire and encourage others. You are really doing a great thing with your book and Facebook page."

And so that's what I can tell you "About the Author." I know without question or doubt that I was put on this earth, and STAYED on this earth for one purpose: to help others heal!

Reviewed by Gloria Antypowich for Readers Favorite This is the story of a child who loses her 'child hood' when she is thrust into a world of adult competition. As a child, she is always too young to “fit in” and is left out of the camaraderie shared by her older fellow competitors. As she grows into adolescence, her desire for recognition and attention leads to unhealthy choices. She grows into a brilliant young woman who has learned to face challenges head on, becoming successful at anything she puts her mind to; but alas, her material success does not satisfy the emotional void and she is constantly shadowed by depression. I really enjoyed the reality of this journey through the fast-paced life that started Julie Ann’s downward spiral, followed by her struggle to rise up, conquer and find peace within. Depression is a common occurrence in today's world and the seeds at the root of it could be innocently sown in childhood. I highly recommend this book to anyone who is suffering from depression, or knows someone who is. It offers a message of hope from someone who has faced that darkness.
