"A great chick lit book: a strong and confident heroine, a sexy boyfriend you can crush on, supportive friends, and plenty of conflict leading to comical results, culminating in a very satisfying ending." – Erin Brady, Bestselling Author of The Shopping Swap

Feisty New Yorker Kimberly Long runs the most popular chick lit book blog on the web, loves playing house with her sexy lawyer boyfriend, Nicholas, and is finally pursuing her lifelong dream of becoming a published author. At first glance, her life is worthy of five pink champagne flutes. But is there more to the story than meets the eye? After hearing the phrase "chick lit is dead" more times than she's read The Devil Wears Prada, Kim is driven to desperate measures, seeking advice from up-and-coming chick lit author, Hannah Marshak, her high school nemesis and resident "mean girl."

As if Kim doesn't have enough on her plate balancing her secretarial duties with her blog, Pastel is the New Black, shrugging off the growing pile of agent rejections, and keeping her best friend from turning green over Kim's budding friendship with Hannah, Nicholas is so blinded by his career ambitions, he doesn't see that their home sweet home could use more than a dash of sugar.

This is the year when all of Kim's dreams--professional and romantic--are supposed to come true, but will her story have a happily ever after or will Kim end up unpublished and all alone?

"Even when mean girls sidle up to be frenemies while throwing obstacles in her way--both professionally and personally--Kimmie more than holds her own in these battles of wit and this true journey of the heart." – Josie Brown, Author of The Housewife Assassin's Handbook Series

"Schorr excels at writing true to life characters and novels readers can't put down, and Novelista Girl is her best yet. A perfect mix of romance, conflict, and humor, Novelista Girl solidifies Schorr's place among best-sellers Sophie Kinsella and Emily Giffin." – Carolyn Ridder Aspenson, Bestselling Author of the Angela Panther Series

"Impossible to put down, has the perfect blend of humor, and is such an amazing sequel to Blogger Girl." – Book Mama Blog

"Absolutely brilliant chick lit, I couldn't put it down, and I highly, highly recommend." – Chick Lit Plus

The second in a series (I think) that centers around a young woman, Kim who is a blogger and secretary who really wants to write and blog full time, but she isn't there yet. She must juggle a lot of things as well as a relationship with a lawyer who doesn't have much time himself and something is bound to suffer. As a blogger who doesn't want to be a writer, I still enjoyed this one. It was absolutely fun to hear what goes on in my own head with mounting TBRs, scheduling posts and working with people in publishing, it was fun to read something that hit so close to home! At times I wanted to pass this book out to friends and my dear husband, so they could hear what all goes into this blog of mine! I would absolutely recommend to start at book one in this series, but this is one not to miss!

Did I enjoy this book: I LOVED this book. It was a fantastic sequel to Blogger Girl, which I also loved. (You can read my review of Blogger Girl here.) It was fun, exciting, emotional. I read it every free chance I had and would have finished it in a day if I could have. Kimberly Long is still blogging at Pastel Is the New Black, and now she has finally finished her novel. All she needs to do is get it published. Easy, right? We get to experience her journey trying to secure a publisher (fingers crossed!) in Novelista Girl. She’s still with Nicholas, and their relationship has some ups and downs. There were times I wanted to tell Kim that she was being ridiculous. There were times I wanted to tell Nicholas that he need to be more present. But I loved them together. They work. You can’t help but smile at the two of them. I want to say so much more about this FABULOUS read, but I’m not going to. It is just too good, and I don’t want to spoil it for anyone. Let me just say that I laughed. I almost cried. I smiled. And I *SQUEEEEEE*d quite a few times. Just pick up a copy and read it. Trust me. Would I recommend it: Absolutely!! And be sure to read Blogger Girl as well! However, you can read Novelista Girl as a standalone. Disclosure: I received a complimentary copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.

Great Book! This is a great book by Meredith Schorr. This book is the follow up book after the book Blogger Girl. This book can be read as a standalone, or can be read after Blogger Girl. Kimberly (Kim) Long lives in New York and runs the most popular chick lit book blog on the web. She has finally decided to follow her dream and write a book. Kim is driven to desperate measures when she seeks advice from an up and coming chick lit author, Hannah Marshak, who happens to be her high school nemesis. If you are looking for a fun book then you need to read this one. I am looking forward to reading more books by this author. A Review copy was provided to me in exchange for a fair and honest review. The free book held no determination on my personal review.

The main character, Kim, got on my nerve a few times. However, for the most part, this was a fun and enjoyable book. The book held my interest and there were even a few laughs. There were a few times that the right people were put in their place, I especially enjoyed that. There were a few paragraphs of explicit sex (not real bad, just the usual stuff) that I skipped. Most of it was just implied. It was a couple who had just moved in together, so it was discussed quite frequently, but as I said, mostly implied. I would consider it pretty tame. For me, it was just fun entertainment and I enjoyed reading it. Of course, the best part was when the mean girls got theirs. Duh, always, ha! Thanks to Booktrope for approving my request and to Net Galley for providing me with a free e-galley in exchange for an honest review.

I just love Meredith Schorr. Novelista Girl is the second book in the Blogger Girl Series. I reviewed The Blogger Girl here. Kimberly Long is the perfect main character for a Chick Lit series. She's fun, funny, irritated and at times a tad bitchy. I love her and I love her interactions with her friends, her boss, her boyfriend and her enemies. Meredith creates a world where not only does Kimberly have 'almost' everything she wants but she also has 'frenemies' who you don't hate! Their interactions are hilarious and so true to life. Kimberly is a Chick Lit Book Blogger (maybe that's why I love her so) and she's desperately trying to publish her own Chick Lit novel (another similarity that made me love this series) and she doesn't believe Chick Lit is dead (heck no it's not!). The realism that Meredith has written into the book concerning the sentence before this is nothing short of perfection. Clearly Meredith writes a bit from what she's seen in the Chick Lit publishing world and I for one love that. It makes the whole book so incredibly realistic. The book is definitely not short of a dream boyfriend either. Nicholas is a hot lawyer and definitely Kimmy's dream guy. He brings in a whole host of issues to the story that affect Kim as well. I love how the two of them react to different scenarios, it's never boring and at times is laugh out loud funny. I can honestly say that Meredith has become one of my favorite Chick Lit authors just from this series alone (her other books are fab too though). This series brings back the Chick Lit from 10 years ago and reminds me why I fell in love with it to begin with it. I can see Meredith falling in line with the other greats of the Chick Lit Author world and that makes my cold little heart burst with Chick Lit happiness! I read this book in a matter of hours, ignoring my kids, pets and household duties Both Novelista Girl and Blogger Girl made my top 10 of 2015 so if you haven't read them yet, what are you waiting for?! What I Loved: -Kimberly, Nicholas, Hannah and all of the characters bring such fun into this book. Whether the relationship be romance or a love/hate you'll want to read until your family is whining for dinner at 11pm. -You want to see Kimberly succeed with publishing her book! I was rooting for her since Book 1 but Book 2 really made me cheer her along. I never want to see Chick Lit die! -Nicholas is a dream book boyfriend and you definitely won't be disappointed in him. -I laughed and I can honestly say I may or may not (lol) have cried! I just love these characters What I didn't Love: -ugh.. I don't want the series to be over! I want another one! lol What I thought of the cover: -I love this cover. I may have been a tad honest with the Blogger Girl cover not being a fav of mine. I've noticed a trend in Chick Lit moving towards realistic photo covers and I for one don't love it. The heart and soul of knowing a chick lit from a regular 'women's fiction' has always been the illustrated pastel covers and I LOVE that. -This cover screams chick lit and I definitely would beeline to it in a bookstore. Well done, Meredith! My conclusion: If you love chick lit you NEED to read these books. If you are a book blogger or an aspiring chick lit author, you NEED to read these books. I just can't stress enough how amazing this story is and how much I loved these! These are books I will buy in paperback just to add to my collection with all the other grea

I couldn't be more excited about Novelista Girl if I tried! The only thing that makes me sad is that I finished it! I secretly hope that there is a 3rd book in the series in the works! I have said it before and I will say it again - I see some little similarities between myself and Kim and who knows, maybe that's why I love it as much as I do! I am a paralegal in a law firm in the city by day and a chick lit book blogger by night! We are also similar in that I read and work on my blog during the day as well! Shhh don't tell my boss! LOL I am so happy that Kim and Nick are still the same perfect couple that they always were, OK, maybe perfect is the wrong word to use. No one is perfect, but I love them just the same! Their story take many crazy turns. One for the books is the arrogant Daneen, yes she's still in the picture! Will this woman ever enjoy her life and stop butting into Kim's and Nick's? Or will she go to her grave as a bitter, single lawyer who enjoys seeing the misery she can cause at every turn? The fun doesn't stop there! Nickolas's father joins the fun crowd and makes his sun feel as if he will never amount to anything just because he didn't become a DOCTOR! I mean, I know that Lawyers are scraping to make a living and all (LOL) but I am sure he will manage! Hannah Marshak returns for an encore and is just the same as she was in Blogger girl, only shall we say nicer? You will have to read it to believe it! The story will have you rolling on the floor laughing, yelling at the characters when they do something stupid (which may be frequently!) and crying tears of sadness when you fear it may be coming to an end! So take out your favorite girlie beverage and sit back and enjoy the ride! Meredith does NOT disappoint!
