If you are looking for a well-written, insightful book about some of the shipwrecks that happened on the Great Lakes, you are better off looking somewhere else. This book has the potential to tell some great stories, but the author never focuses on one wreck at a time. The chapters are labeled for specific wrecks, but he tells of many different, unrelated wrecks before briefly going into the subject for which the chapter is titled. More detail would have made this book much more interesting. However, I simply could not get past the countless errors in this book. There were spelling errors, grammatical errors, and misuse of punctuation. I am by no means an expert on the English language, but have read enough books in my time that the lack of editing really hindered the potential enjoyability of this book. I was amazed at how many errors there were. Again, the book certainly had potential. But if someone were to ask me if I could recommend a book on shipwrecks on the Great Lakes, it would not be this book. Sorry, Mr. Stonehouse. Next time hire an editor.
