To the list of the world's greatest wisdom literature must now be added a new title. Observations and Contemplations of a Humanist is as inspirational as the Meditations of Marcus Aurelius, as deep as the Tao Te Ching of Lao-tzu, as engaging as the Analects of Confucius, as easily comprehended as the Maxims of the Duc de la Rouchefoucauld, and as irreverent as the Devil's Dictionary by Ambrose Bierce. No humanist/atheist/rationalist home or library should be without a copy. In clear, precise language the author deals decisively with every issue relevant to the human condition, and in the process, offers the world not only a comprehensive philosophy of life that is both joyous and optimistic, but also a liberal, non-theistic alternative to traditional revealed religion.
