Anna is on the run from her past. She has moved in with her cousin Holly and works at Temptation, the bar Holly owns. Then one day Holly up and takes off with her boyfriend leaving Anna to pick up the mess. Then one day Anna goes into work and learns that Holly sold the bar to some guy named Jensen. He rubs Anna wrong right away. She doesn’t like to be told what to do and Jensen likes to be in charge. Anna is annoyed with herself for finding him attractive. She moved her to start over and keep a low profile. She always worried that her past is going to find her. Jensen moves around a lot, never stays in one place very long. Anna gets underneath Jensen’s skin and makes him feel out of control. Jensen lets Anna go home early and is happy about it after the night she has had. Learning someone had bought the bar really through her for a loop. How could Holly not call and tell her that she sold the place. The next day Anna is at home working on school assignments when who comes strolling in but Jensen. Turns out Holly not only sold him the bar but the house as well. Jensen doesn’t ask Anna to move out or anything just goes on as if nothing is amiss. Much to Anna’s dismay she finds herself taking more time getting ready for her next shift. Anna and Jensen seem to have some kind of instant connection whether either of them wants it or not. Jensen can’t but worry about her and wanting to protect her. One night she goes to temptation on her night off and gets drunk. When she gets home Jensen is there and lets her know he is not happy. After a bit of agreement Jensen kisses her and it leads to them sleeping together. The next morning Anna is so embarrassed she wakes up along and last night comes rushing back. She slept with Jensen. When she comes to the bar later that day she finds Jensen there with another girl and he is kissing her neck. She knew Jensen was trouble. She doesn’t know why it bothers her so much. It was only one night, what did she really expect from him. Is this thing that they feel for each going to turn into anything? What is Anna going to do now? She works for and lives with Jensen, she doesn’t have anywhere else to go but home and she can’t do that. What is Jensen going to do about the way he feels for Anna? Poor Anna is running from her past. If they find her it won’t be good. One stupid accent in her youth and now is has tainted her whole future. Jensen is really a good guy he just gets so frustrated around Anna that he doesn’t show it very often. He has his own sorted past as well. This book was very interesting. Anna and Jensen fight their feeling for most of the book. Then when they finally give in Anna’s insecurities and fear of her past get in the way. Will they be able to over it and be together? Jensen’s brother is currently in jail and will be getting out soon. He will living with Anna and Jensen when he gets out. Since his brother will be getting out of jail soon his girlfriend is around too. The first time Anna see her she thinks Jensen and her are having a thing. A lot of their problems come from not communicating. Jensen doesn’t tell her how he truly feels and Anna is insecure so she doesn’t say what she feels fearing he doesn’t feel the same way. The book ends of a cliff hanger when things finally seem to be working out for them. I am impatiently awaiting the next book in the series to see what happens next. I was given this book in return for an honest review.
