Yellowcard is an awsome group! Alot of there songs you can relate to and then you know that they know what your going threw. Their songs have helped me threw some hard times, and when i listen to their music it helps me. My sister went to Iraq and their song "Believe" helped me alot. I think its also cool that they have a violin in a rock group. It shows they have creativity and they like to be diffrent. Thanx for reading this.

In my review i want to say congratulations to Yellowcard for making one of the best albums out there in the market(competing against other socal-bands of course). The albums kicks high with Way Away, the most hardcore this band could get. The song its followed by breathing, another step for Yellowcard into hardcore rock. Ocean Avenue its without a doubt the most hyper and punkish song in the album named like the song. Empty Apartmant its a more melancholical song, with a tearie guitar and chorus. Life of a Salesman its a good example for teens of how they must think about their parents, being thankful for all they have done for us. Only One its the most romantic song I have ever heard. Catchy lyrics, sentiment in every note, perfect for those who found love. Miles Apart is a punkish melancholical song, with lots of energy to sing along the band. (Im skiping the song Twenty Three, ill be sincere and say its not the best song, its just catchy) View From Heaven its the perfect mix of country with pop-punk and lots of feelings. The song tells the story of the regret of a boy for not letting his feelings for a girl flow, but she's already dead. Good song, good story, lets learn from it. And so the albums keeps the same flow of romanticism and punk combined. Believe its a positive song, with a good and simple message, "Everythings gonna be alright be strong believe". One year Six Months its an acoustic just chilling song, a song for letting your tears flow. Back Home(the last song) its yet another let your tears flow for no reason, its like the song you would hear when summer its finishing. In general, Ocean Avenue its like a big package with many mixes and feelings. Yellowcard has the future of Socal in their hands.

Yellowcard's "Ocean Avenue" is by far the BEST CD that I've purchased this year if not EVER. The whole album is a story chronicling the highs and lows of their journey of becoming the awesome rock stars that they are now. This [review] is coming from a former die hard *Nsync lover ok? Yellowcard has totally OPENED MY EYES to MUSIC. MUSIC played with REAL INSTRUMENTS, no dancing, no LIP SYNCING. Just real music. BUY IT! You sooo totally won't regret it. And if you have a chance, see them LIVE- it's even better.

Yellowcard is one of the best punk bands out there at the moment. Their newest CD is a masterpiece that is pop-punk but adds a twist of beautifal violin. It is enjoyable for anybody to listen to and is a must for any collection.

Awesome. Pure awesomeness from beginning to end. It's a CD you can have on repeat for the whole day and it will never get old. I still enjoy it as much as when I bought it almost a year ago. If you like One for the Kids and The Underdog EP, you'll definitely love this one. It even has hints of Midget Tossing and Where We Stand (musically). Just amazing.

Yellowcard has offically broken the mold. The general sterotypes of punk music is that once you sign to a major label you sell-out and the music just isn't quite the same. "Ocean Avenue" has proved every non-believer that a better essence is out there. Each and every song has it's own special qualites, for example "Empty Apartment" highlights the melodic voice of lead singer Ryan Key. Key is credited for most of the personal lyrics on the album. The aggression on "Breathing" seeps through with the guitar licks of Benjamin Harper. The title track "Ocean Avenue" is somewhat reminist of there last full length album "One For The Kids" but sets itself apart by it's lyrics. Sean Mackin adds his classical violin playing to each song with an "umph" and makes it sound twice as good, which is what sets them apart from the other mediocore bands that place themselves in the "punk" genre. The drummer "LP" intensifies the songs by making sure that his quick drum licks and fast paced playing still make it what it is...punk. If you'd like to make anyone from your 1 and a 1/2 year nephew dance to your dad staring at you because you can't help but sing the lyrics aloud, then this album is definitly what you need. It's the medicine that cures for those days that feel like every other band seems stuffy and cold.

Yellowcard's CD is the best CD i have heard in a long time. I can listen to all the songs and not get sick of them. The songs have meaning. I also like how Ryan wrote most of the songs and that is cool. The song View from Heaven is a great song. So if you dont have this CD yet you should really get it.

Ocean Avenue is a really good album, and i definitely recommend Yellowcard's music, including the album, One for the Kids. Ever since Ryan Key joined the band, and they came out with One for the Kids, i've been listening to the band, and wanting to see them live. They are a great band and they sound great.

this album was even more awesome than the last one! the songs are amazing, with incredible vocals and instrument parts. the songs all have a different sound (which is good) so it's an album you can listen to the whole way through without getting bored. this would be a cd that you would have difficulty picking a favorite song out of 'cause they all rock!

This Cd is so amazing, I can't believe it. When you listen to it, you're in an instant good mood. Every song is wicked good. And it's nice to finally hear something that's a bit different. These guys are like no other, with the originality of adding a violin to a punk/emo band, and it fits in perfectly.

About a year ago, the relatively unknown band, Yellowcard, went on tour with Less then Jake and Sugarcult and ended up at a venue in my area. To my surprise the band’s performance was just as energetic and developed as those headlining. I was very impressed by their first cd ‘one for the kids’. The band obviously had a strong and unique musical talent and generally good song writing skills, though the lyrics centered on the juvenile difficulties of high school. This new album, Ocean Avenue, is just as good and even better than the last. Yellowcard kept its unique musical style of a pop-rocky punk feel, but matured both its sound and lyrical components. Ocean Avenue has a collection of songs that contain deeper meaning and seem to have affected the band more personally. Way away, ocean Avenue, empty apartment, life of a salesman and believe are songs that no Yellowcard fan should miss. And its no surprise there is not one bad song on the album. The cd also holds some enhanced features for your computer including a video on the making of it and a music video for ‘powder’, a song that was released on their ep follow up to ‘one for the kids’. I recommend this album to all, and if you don’t know who Yellowcard is first buy the cd (trust me, you’ll like it), but then be sure to go see them live!
