There is a pretty great variation between songs, so some songs will appeal to you while others will not. All in all, a good CD, especially if your'e a fan of the Shins or indie rock.

This CD could not be better! The Shins are amazing, they can pull out every emotion you possess. You will smile at some of the jumpier songs like Know Your Onion! and will cry, or at least unleash your sadness to songs like Caring is Creepy or New Slang. You will not know to think on Your Algebra, it is odd, but it does not ruin the album, not even a blemish. This album possesses your emotions, so let them out: Get The Shins' Oh, Inverted World, now!

A good album all around, worth the low price it's listed at here. In general, a bit too mellow for my mood but I don't regret buying it. While I may not be a rabid fan of the Shins, I do enjoy their strange brand of indie pop/rock/etc/whatever.

Except for "Your Algebra," every song on this album is worth listening to!

This is the Shins first album -- a very mellow, touching album. Singer/songwriter James Mercer spills his emotions into carefully worded abstract lyrics, in delicate melodies that display his amazing vocal range. These songs are extremely well written, intricate and beautiful. Songs like "Caring is Creepy" and "New Slang" actually make me cry when I'm in the right mood. Seriously.
