Voltaire, the creator of CHI-CHIAN and OH MY GOTH, releases the first-ever collection of pin-up artwork from his uniquely twisted mind! Revisiting popular characters from previous comics/animation and introducing dozens more, these richly detailed images burst off of the page, opening a door to worlds populated by sultry succubae, sexy androids, and spooky sirens.
ABOUT THE AUTHOR:
Born in Havana, Cuba, in 1967, Voltaire drew inspiration from the stop-motion animation of Ray Harryhausen in his youth. During his early adulthood, he began gaining a reputation as an accomplished animator in his own right, working for such pop culture media venues as MTV and the SciFi Channel. Broadening his horizons, Voltaire published his first comic series, CHI-CHIAN, in 1997, followed shortly thereafter by the OH MY GOTH series, an idea originally conceived of to promote his live musical performances. Voltaire has released numerous dark, satirical albums through the premiere Goth music label, Projekt Records.
What People are Saying About This
When people say that I’m lucky that I can draw, I laugh and tell them that I can’t! I say this because I have yet to put something down on paper that looks as it appeared in my mind. Luckily for me, in the indie comic book world, an inability to draw is often misdiagnosed as a ‘style.’ So, I have enjoyed some minor notoriety due to that phenomenon. I hope people continue to enjoy my ‘style’ and to those people who buy my books I humbly say, thank you for your encouragement and support and for holding my hand as I continue to learn how to draw. I put before you my sketchbook. I hope you will enjoy its contents.
