Couldn't get any farther than that because I was already annoyed. This book reads like it was written by a high schooler. Grammatical errors and hard to follow the writer's train of thought. The writing just doesn't flow and paragraphs (and even sentences) jump around. Several times in the first few chapters I had to go back and reread, thinking "huh?" Not enjoyable reading when the writing is bad. Needs a good proofreader!

Great setting. You can not doubt that the setting real and well known by the author. The story is well crafted to fit the setting.

I experienced this great island 10 years later for 5 years. This book describes it perfectly, brings back memories, and tells a great story of hero too.

I shared many of the same experiences while stationed in Okinawa. I was stationed there from 1960-1962. I lived in kadena Circle with a loving young lady, who unfortunately refused my proposal of mariage.

My expectations were of a historical account of Okinawa, "Affair" must have meant something otherwise. First 60 pages were an account of the testosterone level of men in the service. Therefore, I saw no need to read further.

This historical fiction starts out slow but gets more interesting towards the end.

As someone who lived on Okinawa, this story has a very real feel to it. Many of the places mentioned are still there today. I love that island and want to go back.

You don't want to put this lovely jewel down. When you turn the last page, you wish it wasn't over. Thank goodness the author wrote another book to finish the story. ENJOY!

Loved this book. It was engaging and entertaining. I really dont know much about this time period other than what you learn in history class. It is always interesting to read first hand accounts of such historical events. And i've come to enjoy historical fiction because of it. I would recommend this story, especially since it's free.
