The bloody war between the Vampire Tribunal and the defiant scathe of Penton, Alabama, rages on, forcing its residents and their bonded humans to retreat into the underground fortress of last resort: Omega. There, Will Ludlam is charged with the care of Penton’s humans, though he longs to fight alongside his vampire brethren. He knows the risks: as the renegade son of the Tribunal’s vicious leader, Will’s capture could doom the resistance. Yet he is determined to prove his worth to his adopted scathe, to his vengeful father—and to former US Army officer Randa Thomas, his beautiful, reluctant partner. Randa has little faith that a former member of the vampire elite has what it takes to fight a war. But as their enemies descend upon Omega, Will’s polished charm—and Randa’s guarded heart—finally give way to the warrior within. Fans of Susannah Sandlin’s Penton Legacy are sure to devour this long-awaited third installment of the steamy paranormal series.

Omega (Penton Legacy #3) by Susannah Sandlin Matthias Ludiam has been given the okay by the Vampire Tribunal to bring down the leaders of Penton, Alabama.  His attack forces Penton’s inhabitants to retreat into Omega, Their underground stronghold. The tribunal doesn’t realize Matthias has ulterior motives, among them repossessing the son he abused. Vampire and former US Army officer Randa Thomas is the assigned partner of Will Ludlam.  The two are like oil and water, or so they think.  After being trapped together after an explosion they discover they may be more alike and attracted to each other than they originally thought. Will Ludlam is loyal to Aidan Murphy and the town of Penton.  He will do anything is his power to protect its inhabitants even if it means sacrificing himself.  Susannah Sandlin does it again with her third successful book to the Penton Legacy series.  Her books just keep excelling.  The reader becomes more engrossed as her characters and story develop further.   I am really interested in seeing where her spin off series Omega Force is going to take us.    ARC provided in exchange for an honest review.

I love this series. From the first book I was hooked and it has only gotten better. In this story the third book of the series, we get to find out more about Will. Will has been a secondary character up until now. He is a trusted member of the Penton community and has helped to design it and Omega. He has faced many challenges along his way, the main one being his father who is Penton's worst enemy. We also get to find out more about Will's partner in patrols and his main conflict in the town - Randa. They just cant seem to agree on anything. But are consistently forced to work together. Randa is facing her own problems. She has not fully accepted her new life as a vampire and is just not sure it is what she wants to be. She also still worries about her family and misses her father and brothers. She is determined to not give up though and is trying to work though her issues to adjust. At the same time the battle with Will's father is still going on. This causes quite a few issues with the Penton vampires and their bonded humans. Without trying to give spoilers from the previous two books I will just say we have a former character come back and a few deaths that do come together, to help take care of this ongoing battle and possibly lead to some new alternative ways for vampires to exist. It is not necessary to read the first two if you are only looking to read about Will and Randa and how their relationship evolves. It is necessary if you want to know more about the town and Omega and how they came to be where they are and what the battle is all about and how it started. I do strongly recommend reading them all if you like vampire tales. And they all go together perfectly to form a complete story arc about the town. I am hoping there is more to come where we get to learn more about some of the other characters we have met along the way.

Omega is a fiery and passionate story that thrusts the reader into the middle of a war between Vampires. The resistance has retreated to the underground fortress. Omega. They are being lead by Will, who has strong ties with the Vampire Tribunal. His father is the leader of the Tribunal and would love nothing more to capture his renegade son and make an example of him. Will must prove to the resistance that he is more then an outcast Elite, he is one of them, and he will fight to his last breath to see that they have the freedom that they need. Will is partnered with Randa Thomas, former Army officer. Randa has not made her mind up about Will. How can they trust a Vampire that was once part of the Elite. Susannah Sandlin continues the Penton Legacy with two kick ass heroes who not only fight Vampires, but each other as well. The steamy relationship that develops between the two will arouse, entire, and capture the reader. With their passion for each other, Will and Randa are the leaders that the resistance needs to make it’s last stand. Omega will have you sitting on the edge of your seat as you battle side by side with Will and Randa. This is a must read that will not disappoint!

Omega is the third book in the Penton Legacy series by Susannah Sandlin. The one focuses on Will, and the ongoing war. The Penton residents are underground – hiding from Will's father. Matthias is determined to get his son back, and get revenge on the citizens of Penton. Things are getting tense with Matthias closing in on their location, and the Penton residents getting antsy from being stuck underground. The humans are getting sick and the vampires are having to cut back on feeding. Will has always been the cocky, lighthearted vampire and computer genius. Will and his partner, Randa, have clashing personalities and get on each others nerves. They come to realize though, that they've had the wrong impression of one another. Each of them put up a front to protect themselves. Will isn't anything like he seems. He is self conscious about a lot of things, and has been hiding a painful past. Randa isn't anything like the cold, uptight soldier type that Will believes. Once they are stuck together and get to know each other more, things take a sizzling turn. This book didn't seem to have as much time for romance as the other two, but that's because there was always action. I prefer romance, but I know other readers prefer action. There was so much going on that there wasn't time to get bored with the storyline. The story was quick paced and well written. I don't know if this is the last book in the series or not. Things were wrapped up pretty well, but I think there is an opportunity for more if the author wanted. There was a new character – Cage – that I'm interested in. Also, I wanted to know more about the situation with Mark. I won't say more because I don't want to give it away, but I really want to know what ended up happening there. The Penton world was so nicely set up, that I will be sad if the series is done. If you are a fan of steamy paranormal romances, then I definitely recommend this series. I also recommend reading them in order. The characters from the first two books make appearances in this book, so it was nice reading about them again. **Note – this book mentions sensitive topics such as rape and abuse.

Omega is book 3 in the Penton Vampire Legacy series.  It is fantastic!  If you are a fan of paranormal vampire romance , this is a series not to miss.  It is as good as the Blackdagger Brotherhood, Midnight Breeds, Darkhunters, and Darkyn series.  It is packed full of action, alpha vampires, kick#ss humans, and red hot romance.  Read the series!
