Communication is one of the most strategic factors on the battlefield. Open communication lines are vital for coordination and execution of the mission. If the enemy can intercept or disrupt our communications, our mission is at risk.
Prayer is our communication link with God. Is it any wonder that the evil one would like nothing better than to disrupt our communications with God? If our communication with the Father is interrupted, our relationship is jeopardized.
Jesus Christ has put us on alert until He returns. Jesus urges us to "be on the alert," "keep watch," and "be ready." One of the primary ways we maintain our vigilance is through prayer-constant communication-with Him. Paul urged us to "Be alert and always keep on praying...." (Ephesians 6:18)
On Alert! helps us hone our skills in praying in order to experience an ever deepening relationship with Jesus Christ. "Devote yourselves to prayer, being watchful and thankful." (Colossians 4:2)
