Big girls don't cry--they go after what they want--in this "fresh, fun, adorable" (Lori Wilde) romantic comedy.

Thanks to her bangin' curves, Valerie Carmichael has always turned heads--with the exception of seriously sexy Logan Mathis. Just Valerie's luck that the object of her lust-filled affection is also best friends with her overprotective brother. But Valerie's determined to get Logan's attention . . . even if it means telling a teeny little lie to get a job at his new bar.

Logan can't remember a time when Valerie didn't secretly fuel all his hottest fantasies. Now the curvaceous she-devil is working behind his bar, tempting him every damn night. It's only when he finds Valerie's naughty things-to-do list that Logan decides to break every rule in the book--by making each red-hot deed a reality.

No one warned them that they were going to fall this hard. And no one warned them that sometimes the smallest secrets can have the biggest consequences.

About the Author

Alison Bliss grew up in Small Town, Texas, but currently resides in the Midwest with her husband and two sons. With so much testosterone in her home, it's no wonder she writes "girl books." She believes the best way to know if someone is your soul mate is by canoeing with them because if you both make it back alive, it's obviously meant to be. Alison pens the type of books she loves to read most: fun, steamy love stories with heart, heat, laughter, and usually a cowboy or two. As she calls it, "Romance...with a sense of humor."

Same as the previous book..shallow plot, too much profanity.....and really...a glory hole????

This is only the second book that I have read by Alison Bliss ( the first one being Size Matters), but it will not be my last! Alison brings her fictional characters to life with wit and charm. I loved the confident go-getter Valerie and the sexy, irresistible Logan. They were the "perfect fit", but I'm glad that they both had to work it a little bit to get there. Enough said! If you want an entertaining and enjoyable read then this is it! :)

Valerie Carmichael has been in love with Logan Mathis for years. He is her brother’s best friend but has not shown any interest in her at all. Valerie is a beautiful, sexy blonde and is determined to get Logan interested in her and see her as a woman and not Brett’s little sister. She has no idea that Logan is very interested in her but knows that her brother will kill him if he thinks there’s something going on with the two of them. Valerie appearing in tight, sexy dresses is more than Logan can take. He can’t fight the attraction any more.

Great story line easy to get interested in. This is the 2 in the Perfect Fit Series. I read & review the 1st one ( Size Matters) This is just as good. I am not very good at writing reviews and just know what I like and this one is a very good one. I highly recommend this!

I did enjoy this one. Although while Valeria may have been supposed to be a bigger woman, I don't know that any of that came across on her side. Yay for all the self-confidence that I know is good for her, it sometimes made it a little hard to connect to her because I am not that way. But I did like the romance, even if Logan totally irritated the crap out of me for all his not wanting to get with her because of her brother. And in the end, her brother's overprotectiveness to the point of how angry he got when he found out about the two of them, well that was really annoying, and pretty over the top. All in all a good, quick read though. I look forward to reading on in the series, and I liked how we got to have some glances back at the couple from the first book, Size Matters.

I love Alison's books. This one is no exception. I loved Val and Logan's story. Val had feelings for Logan for as long as she remembers, she even flirted with him every possible chance she got. Bzt then he moved away and they haven't seen each other for several years, until he returned, sexy as ever. He had feelings for her too, but he always thought he wasn't good for her. Until he couldn'd do it anymore. They finally got together, but they hid their relationship because of her protective older brrother. When you think they'll get their HEA, Val does something he can't forgive her. Read rhe story and find out if they managed to work out their relationship. This story was swoony, angsty, funny and sexy. Read it!

We get another heart-warming, humorous, sexy, smoldering romantic comedy that had me sighing and giggling. On The Plus Side is pure romantic fun and saucy! Valerie is bold, bright, gorgeous with her curves and just goes after what she wants in a way you can't help but to admire. Logan he is sexy, can be sweet, protective, a little grumpy at times...but when you put BOTH of them together the sparks snap, crackle, pop, and electricity arcs between them in the most delicious way. This is one of my most favorite SERIES by Miss Alison Bliss! She writes sassy, fun, and heartfelt romantic comedies that can make you laugh out loud, bring the emotions to the surface and make you believe in happily ever after. And the fact she writes about sexy curvy plus size gals getting such gorgeous men, makes me 100% happy! On the Plus Side is pure sexy fun and one of the best reads of the summer! Super sexy, perfectly sweet at times, and beautifully told, its a romance that takes my breath away and brings a smile to my face just thinking about it. On The Plus Side gets a SASSY, SWEET, AND DELECTABLE FIVE SHOOTING STARS! Its all time favorite..Valerie and Logan FOR THE WIN!

Check out the full review at Kritters Ramblings The second in a series that centers around Leah's best friend. If you haven't read book one or my review yesterday, Leah is the center of the first book and her best friend Valerie is the star. She works in Leah's bakery and has always had an older brother to watch her back and defend her in everything. Things may get turned upside down when her brother's best friend Logan returns to town for many reasons. Another romance novel that of course was predictable, but as I always say its ok that you know the destination, the journey is still enjoyable. Romance books are notoriously made with a formula, but as most romance readers know we are ok with the formula its almost nice to know that we will end with smiles on our face and a happy ending!

I love it when an author can write a book where you are automatically sucked into the story. Alison Bliss did this with this book. I felt like I was there watching what was going on. I would recommend this book to everyone, it was fantastic. I had a hard time putting it down & was upset when it was over.

3.5 Stars This is the second book in the series. I really enjoyed this one. It had the humor like the first book. Valerie has so much self confidence makes me wish I was the confidant. She's always had a thing for her brother's best friend. Now Logan is back in town and maybe it's a sign to take the bull by the horns when it comes to Logan. Logan fights everything within himself when it comes to his attraction to Valerie, but when temptation is right in his bar can he find the will to no touch Valerie? If you like dirty talkers then Logan is the man for you because he's champ when it comes to dirty talk. I like that Valerie is best friends with Leah from Size Matters because we get see how Sam and Leah are enjoying their HEA.

This was an okay read for me. I didn't like this book as much as I did the first book in the series, Size Matters. I hate to say it but there it is. There were parts that I liked a lot and other parts that made me want to pull my hair out. I did find this book to be a fairly quick read and I did want to see Valerie and Logan get their happily ever after. Logan is back in town for the first time in a lot of years. He has just opened a new bar and needs it to be successful pretty quickly so that he can help his mom out. Valerie has always had a crush on her older brother's best friend and isn't sure what to do now that he is back in town. When Logan finds himself in need of a comptent bartender, Valerie decides that she is the right person for the job. Let's get to some of the stuff that bothered me about this book. Valerie's brother is over the top. I hated him and can't understand why Valerie has allowed him to have so much say in her life. I liked Valerie a whole lot less just because she doesn't stand up to her brother. I think that this book would have been so much better if his character just wasn't around. Not only did Valerie not stand up to her brother, she didn't always make Logan listen to her. She is supposed to be this really confident character but she doesn't speak up when it really matters. I just didn't get it. I liked Logan and Valerie as a couple and thought they had a lot of chemistry. I really did want to see them figure out how to make things work with each other. The sexier moments in this book were very well done and sometimes even laced with a bit of humor at times. I thought that their feelings for each other felt really genuine. This book can easily be read as a stand alone story even though it is the second book in the series. I did enjoy seeing the characters from the first book in this story but this story would work well on its own. I plan to read more from Alison Bliss in the future. I received an advance reader edition of this book from Forever (Grand Central Publishing) via NetGalley.

This is the second novel in the A Perfect Fit series. The story begins with Leah, Sam, Brett, and Valerie enjoying a night out at their friend's new bar. Brett, Valerie's overprotective brother, has made it his life's mission to hover over Valerie and make decisions for her regarding her life. Although his controlling behavior aggravates her, she allows it. Even though Valerie has had a crush on Logan "forever" and does what she can to avoid him, she tags along with Brett for a night out with her bestie, Leah. Valerie can't help but to support Logan by coming to the grand opening of his bar. Growing up, Logan was the town's bad boy. As best friends, Logan and Brett were always getting into trouble. Logan left town because he started having feelings for Valerie and ran. Eight years later, Logan returns home in order to help his mom and open his dream bar. Logan's mom is about to lose her house, so he plans to use his profits off the bar to help save her house. During the grand opening, Logan's head bartender quits and one of the other bartenders struggles to get orders out in a timely fashion....In walks Valerie. Valerie has always wanted to try bartending, so she dazzles Logan with her flashy tricks, skills. Logan concedes and gives her a job--temporarily. As Logan and Valerie work together, their chemistry becomes undeniable. They begin a relationship built on deceit... I'll start off by saying this was the first Alison Bliss novel I've read. I truly enjoyed the witty banter, chemistry, and love shown amongst friends. There were times I wanted to strangle both Valerie and Logan. I would've knocked Brett out long ago! Lol. I could not have tolerated my brother making decisions about my personal life, even if his actions were out of love. At times I thought Valerie was weak and selfish. Then she'd turn around and amaze me with her awesome attitude concerning her body image!!!! I LOVE that Alison writes love stories for average women with HOT men!!! Soooo relatable. I loved Logan's honesty and the love he showered on his mom, but groaned when he talked badly about himself--"I'm not good enough for Valerie". I was extremely happy when Logan finally went after his woman!!! I read a gifted copy of this novel and all opinions stated are my own.

On the Plus Side by Alison Bliss is book two in her A Perfect Fit series and I must say I enjoyed this book very much. Starring Valerie Carmichael, the best friend of Leah Martin (heroine of book #1), and the man she has had a crush on since she was younger. With the bold and energetic, Valerie leading the way, this book is nothing short but fun. Valerie Carmichael is confident with her curves and completely knows how to get a man’s attention, except for the one man that she has always wanted… Logan Mathis, her overprotective older brother’s best-friend. When he left town two days after her high-school graduation, she never expected to see him again, but now he was back in their hometown of Granite, Texas and just opened a new bar, Bottom’s Up. Attending his grand opening with her brother Brett, she hoped to finally show him that she was a woman and not a little girl. However, when an incident involving Valerie leads to Logan’s head bartender suddenly quitting, Valerie decides to step in and lend a helping hand. Seeing an opportunity to finally get Logan to notice her without her big brother around 24/7, Valerie is willing to take a chance at working in Logan’s bar even if it means telling a little white lie. Logan Mathis has always noticed Valerie, even when she was seventeen and he was twenty-one, and that was the problem. She is off-limits as the sister of his best-friend, and he is out of her league. She deserves someone better than the son of a gambler. Back in town to open his new bar, Bottom’s Up, he’s determined to make it a success and ensure he makes enough money to save his mother’s home. He has no time for distractions especially of the beautifully curvaceous kind. Unfortunately for him, Valerie is a siren and when he finds her naughty-things-to-do-list, he can’t help but rise to the challenge, and help her check off each of the items on her list. As Logan and Valerie play their games and spend more time together secretly, neither are prepared for how hard they fall in love. However, once the secrets come out will their newfound love withstand the fire or crash and burn? Alison Bliss’ second installment to her A Perfect Fit series was filled with lots of heat. Val and Logan have definite chemistry and it just ignites on the pages. I loved how witty and sassy Val is, and how confident she is throughout the whole book. She has a big heart and I love how close she and her brother are. How they truly care for each other and how she respects and loves him even when he is overbearing at times. I also liked how strong and determined Logan is. He wants to help his mom and he’ll do everything he can to make sure she keeps her home. He also is very loyal to his friends and his friendship to Valerie’s brother, Brett, is important to him. These two characters are very much a perfect fit for each other and I couldn’t help but enjoy their story. Overall, On the Plus Side by Alison Bliss is a funny and enjoyable romance. Perfect for a summer read and I very much recommend. I can’t wait to read more by Ms. Bliss. (I voluntarily reviewed an ARC of this book I received for free from the publisher via NetGalley in exchange for my open and honest review. This does not affect my opinion of the book or the content of my review.)

Somehow the my best friend's sibling is quickly becoming one of my most favorite tropes in contemporary romance today. And let me tell you, Alison Bliss wrote one of the best books to contribute to this trope. From the first moment that I snagged this book off of the ARC pile sitting on my nightstand, I didn't want to put it down. I was actually kicking myself for not picking up this book sooner and reading an Alison Bliss book sooner. She knows how to write the perfect, dirty talking, cocky alpha. I fell in love with Logan Mathis as soon as he hit the page. But more than that, I fell in love with the beautifully confident Valerie Carmichael. I mean we're talking total girl crush, the girl you'd love to be best friends with in real life. I can't tell you how refreshing it is to read about a romance heroine who is so sure and confident of herself. Yes, we all have our insecurities about our looks, weight etc but Valerie was the perfect example of how we should all aspire to be. I just loved that didn't turn into an annoying, insecure character who became TSTL (Too Stupid To Live) just because she has a different body type than other women. I also loved that she wasn't afraid to go after what she wanted in life. Whether it be the man she's loved from afar for years or a sudden career change. Basically I want to be Valerie Carmichael when I grow up. Not only was I huge fan of the plot and writing style in this book, but the sex scenes we're totally HOT! At one point I thought my book was going to melt my hands! And the humor and witty banter between Logan and Val had me full on snort cackling and belly laughing out loud! I just loved how these characters leaped off the page. I can't highly recommend this book enough! While this is the second book in this series and can totally be read as a standalone without having to go back and read the previous book. But if you're like me and absolutely LOVE this book, you'll end up wanting to go back and start from the beginning. I know that SIZE MATTERS is going on my TBR for July!

On the Plus Side is the second installment in the Perfect Fit series, but can be read as a standalone. Valerie has had a crush on her older brother's best friend since high school. No matter what she did, Logan never appeared to be interested. He moved away eight years ago, but that did nothing to squelch her crush. Now Logan is back in town opening a new bar and helping his mom. He's always noticed Valerie, but she's been off limits for him since he was best friends with Brett, her overprotective brother, and he never felt like he deserved her. Can Valerie convince Logan he's the right guy for her? Will Logan risk his friendship with Brett to be with Valerie? I really enjoyed this story. Valerie and Logan were very relatable characters. The story pulled me in and didn't let me go until I was done. Overall, this is a fun, sexy read filled with lots of humor!

Valerie Carmichael has had a thing for her brother's best friend since she was a teenager, but no matter how hard she tried to catch his eye back then he always seemed uninterested in what she had to offer... and it hurt like hell! He left town long ago, and she has since moved on, but her crush on him has remained constant, and while she knows it's stupid to still want him, she just can't seem to let it go. When she learns he is making a return to town, she decides it's finally time to face this thing head on, she is going to make her feelings for him well known, and finally get him to see her in a new light... and when he does he won't know what the hell hit him!! Logan Mathis knows it is wrong has hell to want his best friends little sister, but he just can't help himself, she has lived in his fantasies long enough... he wants the real thing now! So, when she makes her move, he doesn't resist, and he falls hard for the curvy blonde beauty. But when his best friend catches him with his sister he realizes the gravity of his choice... now he must decide if risking his friendship for the sake of love is worth it? One paragraph in and I was immediately pulled back into the little town of Granite, and beyond thrilled for the opportunity to revisit some of my favorite residents, and also get a glimpse at a few new ones too. Ms. Bliss does such an amazing job of developing relatable and likable characters that you can't help but get attached to them, the moment I met Valerie (in the first installment) I thought man this is a girl I would love to have as friend, she's sassy, ballsy, and totally my kind of people. And upon further inspection I have to say my instincts about her were spot on, her story was thoroughly entertaining, she had me laughing, smiling, and cheering her on the whole way through. This series has been quite the revelation for me, it's been quite inspiring, and as a fellow curvy girl I appreciate seeing curvy girls getting their time in the spot light, even if it is in a fictional sense! It's nice to read a story once in a while when the heroine can walk onto the page, be comfortable in her own shell, be soft when she needs to, and still find the power to make even the toughest alpha weak in the knees... when Valarie strolled into Logan's world he didn't know what hit him! I highly recommend you get your hands on this book, Valerie and her sexy alpha are sure to take you on one hell of a literary escape!! I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this title.

In her uniquely sassy voice, Alison Bliss brings her A game with the second book in her A Perfect Fit series! I didn’t think I could love a couple more than I did Leah & Sam from the first book Size Matters, but Valerie and Logan managed to lasso my heart from the start and had me waiting with bated breath to see if they were going to hook up and claim that happily ever after! Sweet & feisty characters, super hot sexual tension and lots of tight friendships pave the way to a really great story! Valerie Carmichael has never been shy about saying what she wants and going out to get it, but there was one thing that she has wanted for longer than she can even remember that she never managed to get … her brother’s best friend Logan! He left town years ago before she could convince him she was the gal for him … but now he’s back, and he better watch out! Logan Mathis just so happens to need some help at his newly opened bar, and Val tells a little fib to get a job. Logan has never let on, but she’s been starring in his fantasies since way back in the day and she’s only gotten hotter and more voluptuous while he’s been gone. How is he supposed to handle being behind the bar with her every night?

This is book #2, in A Perfect Fit series. This book can be read as a standalone novel. To avoid spoilers, and have a greater understanding of the series, I recommend reading this in order. Valerie has been in love with her brother's best friend for as long as she can remember. He has never even looked at her with longing. She is still waiting for the day he wakes up, if ever. Logan has noticed the very hot Valerie. She has no idea what he has done to stay away. When she finds out, she may be very angry. He just cannot resist her. The eyes, that body, everything. I think this series has me bedazzled! I love the characters, and how hot the sexy stuff sizzles. The banter is right on, and the heat is just turning up. I cannot wait for the next book! ***This ARC copy was given in exchange for an honest review, by Netgalley and its publisher.

This was a really interesting book for me. It's usually the girl thats the one with all the insecurities not the guy. I really loved that Valerie was such a strong confident women. Yes she plus sized but that shouldn't mean that she's not confident and happy with her body. Not everyone that's overweight is unhappy about it, I loved that she felt so realistic. She someone who's finally decided to go after what she wants, yes she makes a few mistakes but they came from a good place, no malice intended at all. It's so refreshing to read about a fun, sassy female character instead of one full of misery and pain. I liked Logan from the start, I completely got his reservations regarding his best friend, and Valerie's brother, Brett. It took awhile for me to see the reasons behind his hesitation but again it came from a good place and once he opened up to Valerie I felt like the relationship was really going to go somewhere. He's a very honourable man considering the father figure he had to grow up with. I really enjoyed his take charge attitude when the two got down and dirty, they were some hot and steamy scenes. It's a really fun series and I'd definitely recommended it if your looking for lots of laugh out loud moments. Alison's a really good writer and you won't be disappointed

Are you ready to laugh out loud? ON THE PLUS SIDE is a sexy sweet love story with a heroine I absolutely adored! Alison Bliss writes sassy quips and witty banter with the best of them and never fails to make me actually laugh! Her characters are easy to root for, easy to love and it's so easy to get lost in their story. Valerie Carmichael has always wanted Logan. He's back in town after eight years and she's not passing on this second chance to let Logan know exactly how she feels about him and what she wants. Logan feels the same way about Valerie, but there's so many reasons he shouldn't give in to the temptation. But she's irresistible and he does... They have their bumps in the road and Valerie's brother Brett does his best to be a roadblock, but these two are meant to be. Logan and Valerie are not just hot together they are perfectly matched. The story is fun, sexy, and kept me turning the pages. I couldn't put it down until I'd read the whole book! I highly recommend it! 4.5 stars ~Complimentary copy downloaded from NetGalley. True beauty comes from within. As a society, we seem to forget that not everyone is a size 0-4. So I applaud Ms. Bliss for creating a heroine with curves that has the confidence and heart to speak her mind and love herself. Like most people, when it comes to matters of the heart is when the complications begin. The object of Valerie's girlhood fantasies has always been the bane of her existence, but the keeper of her heart all the same. Distance, time, nor age has changed that on her end. Too bad the man in question is just as determined to keep her at arm's length. Maybe this time she'll change his mind. If they don't kill each other first. On the Plus Side uses light humor, a romantic story and a sweetheart of a duo to deliver a positive message of self - love and second chances.
