I enjoyed part one of Vagabonds and can't wait to read the rest of the trilogy. It was great to read about how Kyle and the rest of the girls became band members and start their journey.
Kylie had traveled all over with her parents. She finds her first love is the guitar and even taught herself to play. Her parents finally decide to settle down and Kylie enter her high school talent contest and this is a pivoting point in her life. Then Kylie auditions for a band and becomes the lead guitarist for a five girl band called the Vagabonds. The girls all work their butts off to make the band a success. Peter becomes the manager. Kylie meets CJ who is in an up and coming band. CJ also helps the girls with their first CD. I did really like the plot and story although it was a little slow in the beginning. But then it takes off and holds you to it . The characters were good especially Kylie and all the ups and downs she goes through to try to make it big. I recommend.
Review 5 Gibson Guitars This book was so good. I could not put it down. When I finished it, I felt a huge let down. Thank goodness I will be reading book 2, On the Road soon. I can’t wait to see what is in store for Kyle and her band mates. Kyle is raised by her hippy parents living on the road until high school. That is when her parents finally settled down and put down roots in a small college town. Even though Kyle never attended a formal school before, she was able to make friends, but she never seemed to fit in. Her mother was a music teacher and taught her how to play the guitar. Kyle was a natural and soon started teaching herself the stylings of her favorite bands. After her high school talent show, she is contacted to become part of a band. Kyle is a rocker, she loves a strong head banging beat. We watch her as she explores her sexuality with her first boyfriend and asserts her independence. So far I love this character, she is strong and doesn’t back down. She holds her head high and tries to take the high road in most situations. ARC Provided by WTMO Promotions.
