But Christina is jealous. She's been acting weird ever since Melanie began working with Ashleigh. Melanie desperately wants to continue her training, but is it worth losing her cousin's friendship?

I just wanted to mention one thing about this book. They say that Ashleigh was the first woman jockey to win the Kentucky Derby. That's not true, it was Jilly Gordon. (She rode Wonder in the K. Derby.) Just wanted to point that out.

I loved this book. But Christina did not have to get so jealous!I mean she has eventing and Melanie is going to be a jockey. There is NO reason to be jealous!Although I would probably get jealous if my mom was spending alot of time with my couson. But if I had been Christina I would have been happy for Melanie. Also when they went on that trail ride,an Christina would not even speck to Mel!Lighten up Christina!Anyway do not let me discourage you about this book.It was really good except for the fact that Chris acted like a total insane person!!

This book was very disapointing and did not reflect the other 33 books in the series.I thought the book could have had a stronger ending .

it was pretty good. though they do have facts mixed. for example they are saiding ashiegh rode wonder in the kentucky derby. actually she rode wonder in the breeds' cup classic. what's this about ashiegh having had a second baby? please email me and tell me at least what book that's in.

I loved this book. It's one of my favorite except for the earlier Thoroughbreds w/ Ashleigh & Samantha. I think I like Melanie more! I like all the books with Melanie, Melanie's Treasure, A Home For Melanie, Melanie's Last Ride, etc. Dead Heat was great too! The only bad thing, is now the Living Legacy series with Star & Christina, there's no Melanie :( I hope it switches back to Melanie soon!
