Once Upon A Campfire by Kait Nolan

It was a terrible idea.

But that doesn't stop Sarah Meadows from saying yes to covering for her identical twin sister at staff orientation week at Camp Firefly Falls. It's just a few days and she'll be back to finishing her master's thesis, right? But when her sexy, ex-park ranger partner figures out her secret, she's got her work cut out convincing him not to turn her in.

Beckett Hayes knows he should report Sarah to the boss, but instead, he finds himself agreeing to train her. There's just something about those big, doe eyes and all that sass. But when Sarah starts to matter more than he planned, the pressure's on. Can he convince her to take the road less traveled or will this one week have to be enough?

A novelette of approximately 16k words. This story is a crossover introduction to the Camp Firefly Falls series. Check out my full novel in the series, Second Chance Summer.

Q: What makes the Meet Cute Romance series special?

"Meet cute" is a term used to describe a situation in which a future romantic couple meets for the first time. Meet Cute Romance is a series of contemporary romantic shorts celebrating the possibilities of that first meeting.

Q: Who would dig these books?

Meet Cute Romances are designed to be a fast (but not too fast--these are full novelettes, not short stories of only a scene or two), lunchtime or coffee break read to give you a bright spot of romance in your day. If you're looking for a quick romantic pick me up, these short contemporary romances are sure to be right up your alley.

Q: What order should I read the books in?

These novelettes are each stand-alone and can be read in any order. Though there are a few recurring characters in some, so if you want to read in chronological order, they go like this:

* Once Upon a Snow Day
* Once Upon a New Year's Eve
* Once Upon an Heirloom
* Once Upon A Coffee
* Once Upon A Setup
* Once Upon A Campfire

Q: Are there crossovers with other series?

YES! Two of my Meet Cutes tie in with my longer, southern romance series set in Wishful, Mississippi. Wishful is a collection of southern romance novels honoring my Mississippi roots and exploring love in a small town. You can try the first book in the series, To Get Me To You, for FREE! It comes just after Once Upon A Coffee. Once Upon A Setup is a companion novelette to Be Careful, It's My Heart (Book 2 in Wishful) and a prequel to Just For This Moment (Book 4 in Wishful). And Once Upon A Campfire ties in with the shared world Camp Firefly Falls series.

STORY-LINE ONCE UPON A CAMPFIRE BY KAIT NOLAN: Sarah Meadows, has always helped her twin sister,Taylor, out when she's in a mess. This time Taylor needs Sarah to impersonation her at Camp Firefly Falls for one week at staff orientation. Unfortunately Sarah did not count on handsome Beckett Hayes, former Park Ranger, nor that rock climbing would be on the menu. Beckett realizes almost immediately, something is off with Sarah. Confessing who she is, Beckett, takes her under his wing and trains Sarah. But more than training's on both their minds. My romance review book review of Once Upon A Campfire follows. CHARACTERS, PLOTTING, DEVELOPMENT: Nolan created a contemporary romantic novella in Once Upon A Campfire. Nolan calls this series "meet cute romance". As stated by Nolan: ""Meet cute is a term used to describe a situation in which a future romantic couple meets for the first time. Meet Cute Romance is a series of contemporary romantic shorts celebrating the possibilities of that first meeting." Bookish over educated Sarah and out spoken Beckett hit it off from the start. Beckett gives Sarah a different perspective to her long and continuing education. Both are strong, competitive, independent, people perfect for each other. Nolan highlighted the twin bond, as well as, the bond of sisters, I loved Sarah's character. As she resolved issues, came to see her life in a different light, and faced love over education, I cheered her on. I was also glad to see Taylor step up. I found the pace of the novella in line with the length of the story as Nolan wove her plots lines and brought them all together in a successive conclusion to the story. The love scene were tasteful and did not contain erotica, graphic or explicit sex. A quick read, I found this novella perfect for a night curled up in your favorite chair. ONCE UPON A CAMPFIRE RECOMMENDATION: STARS 4 FINALLY, PLEASE NOTE: In addition, I purchased this book and chose to voluntarily review this book with honest romance book reviews of Once Upon A Campfire.

A great introduction to the Camp Firefly Falls series! This book is a terrific fast read! I loved getting to know some of the staff of Camp Firefly Falls. It's fun, quirky, and definitely a "meet cute" story. I highly recommend this book as a quick summer read...or to just anyone that loves a good story! Please note: I received an eBook copy for the purpose of an honest review. I was not compensated for this review, all conclusions are my own.

I love Kait Nolan's books, and Once Upon a Campfire is no exception. It always amazes me how Kait's characters are so relatable, and Beckett and Sarah are no exception! This is a short, easy read-which is great for those of us juggling work, kids, and trying to find the time for something for ourselves. This book is a stand alone novella, but also part of the Camp Firefly Falls series. Definitely a fun book to read!

This was a story of Heather and Michael Tully running a camp for adults. They hired Taylor for the summer but she couldn't get there on time so she talked Sarah ,her twin sister to help her out. There she met Beckett . I loved the story. It was clean and was fun. I highly recommend reading.

Taylor needs her twin sister Sarah to go to camp in her place for one week. Sarah doesn't want too but Taylor needs to get her paycheck so Sarah agrees to make the switch. Sarah meets Beckett who discovers she isn't who she says she is. Beckett likes Sarah so he decides to help her. Will Taylor get back in time to take her test? Cute short story. joy943

ARC for honest review with no compensation Once Upon a Campfire (A Camp Firefly Falls Meet Cute Romance) is about Sarah and Beckett and what comes next in their lives…… Sarah comes to the camp acting as her identical twin sister Taylor (what you will do for family) hoping she can get by undetected until her sister shows up at the end of the week…. Beckett is at the camp to decide what the next step in his life is when he meets Sarah/Taylor and he discovers the deception…. Will Beckett blow the whistle on Sarah or train her and keep it under wraps???? This book was a cute, sassy, short read and looking forward to reading more about Camp Firefly…
