So many great stories with unique takes on so many old tales that people may have forgotten about

I started this anthology of retold fairy tales and didn't stop until the end. I love the retake on the old stories. I, too thought that Princesses should be more than they were portrayed. These are MUCH better!

I usually don’t enjoy anthologies, but this was a nice exception to that rule. The retelling of the old stories stretched both mind and imagination. Walking far from the beaten path in each new story led me to the place: the rising hope of the human spirit. We’re living in a very sad time for our country right now. Negativity and fear on every side, makes fantasy necessary for sanity. Each author gave us hope in a different flavor. Go forth, read and enjoy.

This Anthology was better than I expected but not all of them were to my liking. I chose my 3 favorites to review specifically, starting with Yasmine Galenorn's Princess Charming. As usual, this amazing author delivers her usual flare and the twist she throws on Cinderella was completely unexpected. The story is written as letters between Arabelle (Beauty and the Beast ) and Cindy (Cinderella ) with Cindy falling for someone other than a Prince. What a twist lol. Next up is Anthea Sharp's The Sea King's Daughter. I have touched on Ms. Sharp's books before but this is the first of hers that I have completed. Muireen is a mermaid who like in the Disney film wants to discover the world of humans and at age 17, she gets the oppotunity when her father allows her to swim to the surface of the ocean under guard. Led by music, she meets her man. Through twists and turns, does she get her HEA? Read on to find out. Last up is Kate Danley's Galetea and Pygmalion, a twist on the Greek mythology which I adore. I have not read any of this author's books before but I am definitely interested in doing so now!! A temple for Ares, God of War is being built. Plans change, and the temple becomes a temple fot the Love Goddess Aphrodite. With the plan being change, in comes Galatea, a sculptor's daughter who is charged with creating a sculpture of Aphrodite. Instead, she creates one of Aphrodite's lover which she calls Pygmalion and while creating it, love hits her hard. How does that work? Lol not telling lol. Read this Anthology if you love new twists on old tales. You may be surprised :)
