Overview

One Enchanted Season by C. L. Wilson, Erica Ridley, Elissa Wilds

CL Wilson, Erica Ridley, and Elissa Wilds—three bestselling and critically acclaimed authors of paranormal romance—weave stories inspired by classic holiday songs.

'Tis the season to enchant...

In C.L. Wilson's UPON A MIDNIGHT, an angel helps a troubled woman heal the wounds of her past so her soul can relearn how to sing.

Erica Ridley delivers magic with LET IT SNOW, in which a treasure hunter breaches an enchanted castle only to become trapped inside with a cursed princess and a suspicious tree.

And in SNOWMAN, Elissa Wilds weaves a tale of forbidden love that bridges two very different worlds, when a snowy stranger appears at an isolated mountain cabin seeking much more than shelter from the storm.

Step into a world where the nights are long and dark, snowflakes sparkle like fairy lights, and the hearth fires burn as brightly as the passion of newfound love.

About the Author

C. L. Wilson wrote her first story at age six, and though she took a number of long detours during her life, she never gave up her lifelong dream of being published. Many years, hundreds of false starts, and five completed novels later, she received "The Call" in October 2006 and sold her epic fantasy romance, Tairen Soul, at auction. Her debut novel spent two weeks on the USA Today bestseller list, and her subsequent novels have gone on to hit a variety of lists, including USA Today, New York Times, and Publishers Weekly.

One Enchanted Season is three short stories with a bit of paranormal, romance, and with a holiday theme. The first story by C.L. Wilson was a very, nice story about a troubled young girl living most of her life in crippling fear. Having lost her parents when she was a child she was brought up by abusive grandparents. We meet Kat as she works two jobs, one helping abused woman and their children in a home at nights . Kat is playfully called by her friend. “The child whisperer”, as she has a special way with children. Kat has her own issues from her childhood, not allowing anyone touch her, or she has nightmares of convulsions. Kat has been seeing a man following her for a few days, with a sort of golden glow. One night on her way home she is attacked and the mystery man, who is also a gorgeous hunk comes to her rescue. She discovers that he is her guardian angel, who has watched her from above all of her life. This is a nice sweet story with a urban fantasy twist. Her life is in danger from the dark side, who want to kill her stop her from helping the guardians protect mankind. This is a story of healing, with a beautiful romance, as well as having dark elements. Very nicely done The second story tells the story of a cursed princess locked in her castle alone for hundreds of years. Anyone who has been known to attempt to enter the castle has never been seen or heard from again. Lance, our hero, makes an attempt, armed with some magic, to look for a treasure. Once inside the castle he is locked in and meets Marigold, the beautiful princess who remains as pretty and young as she was hundreds of years before. This was an interesting story of trying to find a way to break the curse, and watching two people fall in love. Another nice romance in a different and strange setting. The premise of this story was interesting, a nice romance, but it was little redundant, probably due to each day repeating itself. The third story was about a woman named Mona who lived with her cat in a cabin. The story starts with Roan a warrior from another realm who is shot down into the human realm. Roan’s ship is destroyed, and he is hurt He seeks to find cover to allow himself to heal, and to get out to the snow and the freezing cold. He is drawn to a cabin where he hears a woman singing. Roan meets our heroine, Mona, as he saves their lives from enemies from his realm. When he saves her cat, Mona welcomes him into her home and helps him. They are both drawn to each other, but for Roan, Mona is forbidden, as they are not allowed to mate with humans. What follows is a nice romance, even if forbidden. It was a nice sweet story and I liked the couple very much. One Enchanted Season was a sweet easy read of different paranormal stories, with three nice romances, during the long wintry nights.
